Comfortable, safe and relaxing

4 of 5
Arriving at night it was nice that the unit was only 15 minutes away, well if we hadn't got lost of our own doing. What we did figure out is that even when lost, you are somewhere beautiful and safe. The condo was exactly as pictured and so nicely prepared with battery operated candles and a bottle of wine waiting. When we discovered that we needed items for breakfast such as coffee, etc. we headed to the Walmart only 5 minutes away. When I woke in the morning to the sunrise coming up over the mountains I couldn't wait to get outside and see our surroundings which didn't disappoint. Lush and green with mountains everywhere I was in my element and headed for a walk and felt completely safe at 6;30 being one of the first out. There is a path that goes around the golf course. Our favorite times were spent on the patio just being part of something so beautiful. We were so relaxed hummingbirds were hovering in front of our faces. Coming from a very busy and hyper city I really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere except for the odd randy driver. You really can't help but relax. If you want a little more excitement head downtown where you will find some great restaurants with great food and atmosphere -Spencers piano bar and restaurant at the tennis club, Lou Lous and Las Caseualos Terraza. In Palm Dessert we enjoyed the Cheesecake Factory and Whole Foods is a great store with lots of pre-prepared food if you want to eat in and organic and gluten free goodies. Our neighbors were gracious enough to give us a bag of grapefruits which were so juicy and delicious compared to what we get here in Canada. Neighbors were pleasant. Our host was very helpful and responded to any inquires quickly. The condo itself including the beds are very comfortable. I loved opening the loft doors each morning and enjoying the morning sounds before heading out for my walk. For shopping head to Cabazon outlet mall and El Paseo in Palm Dessert - both have great deals, selection and are fun to walk around. We also enjoyed the historical walking tour of the movie stores home provided by the historical society. Information on many of the things to do are provided in a healthy information packet in the condo. We will definitely be back and would not hesitate to recommend.
