Cozy, Comfortable, Perfect Location

5 of 5
amy was a delight to work with from start to finish. This property comes as advertised and is even more charming in person. It's proximity to dining, the beach, area attractions (17-mile drive, Carmel Valley, the Mission) was ideal. It is a short walk to numerous dining and shopping options and allowed us to take in the sunset on Carmel Beach each of our 3 nights. It was a storybook getaway for my wife and I and we are so thankful to Amy for making this cottage available to others. If I owned this perfect little haven I'm not so sure I'd be as willing to share. If you are considering this cottage, do yourself a favor and stop procrastinating!

We Will Be Back

5 of 5
My husband and I have been to Carmel 14 times and this time we decided to bring our 3 adult kids and their spouses and our 2 grandchildren. I looked at almost every property in Carmel and Monterey and finally decided on the Acorn Ranch. And I made the right decision. We oohhhed and aahhhed over every detail from the minute we drove up. The ocean views were far more spectacular than I had imagined and the decks provided many spaces for people to enjoy their own privacy. It was very obvious that a gifted architect designed and owned the home. Every detail was exceptional - the furniture, the antiques, the artwork, the ceilings, the walls, the skylights, and the fireplaces. Our family hit all of the incredible sights of Carmel and Big Sur during our stay - Pebble Beach for early morning walks and evening dinner at The Bench overlooking the 18th green. Rocky Point and Nepenthe at Big Sur were highlights and we walked across the street to Point Lobos for some of the most beautiful sights in the world. Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch was a favorite along with Doris Day's Cypress Inn sitting outside by the fire. I would also recommend Casanova for lunch and walking along Scenic Drive. But with all of the incredible moments we experienced, we carved out time at the Acorn Ranch to sit in the sun overlooking the ocean or eating around the fabulous dining room table. Everyone loved the ranch - and the grandbabies especially loved the cows, horses, turkeys, and the deer. Mark took great care of us. Answered the phone with our every need and managed to get our toilet fixed within a few hours even though he was out of town for a day. I almost hate to let others know how great it is because I want to keep it our secret. So save us a spot - WE WILL BE BACK.

Felt like a fairy tale all week!

5 of 5
My husband and I rented Poet’s Cottage for a 5 night getaway with my sister and her husband. This charming home is perfect for two couples. The location could not be better. We took a nice stroll into town several times a day to eat, meander, see the ocean and shop. We loved walking around and seeing all the different houses in the neighborhood. The home itself is very welcoming, with updated décor while maintaining many of the (what mist be) original 1920’s features, such as the charming original windows which I just loved and made me feel like I was in a fairy tale (random, I know.) The exterior is just awesome. We enjoyed breakfast on the little patio each morning. I have never stayed somewhere with so much character! We cooked dinner in the well-equipped kitchen and it was fine for the four of us. The beds are SO comfortable, with soft sheets and luscious duvets. Even the towels are luxurious. The sweet little single bed in the 2nd bedroom was perfect for my sister and hubby because she tends to kick at night and was more comfortable moving to a separate bed when needed. Tamara left a bottle of wine for us and the aquarium passes. She could not have been any more helpful. What a delight. I totally spaced on the unlock procedure and she was available to lead me in the right direction. We loved that she provided such great suggestions prior to the trip and when we got there. What a fantastic hostess!! We will definitely be returning to Poet’s Cottage. What an incredible experience, and I would say quite reasonable for the price. Thank you so much Tamara!!!!
