We had a lovely week in Palm Springs staying at El Nido. We have two young children (4 and 1) and the house was perfect for them! The play room had toys, books, and games, and the nursery was just right for my little one to have everything he needed to sleep comfortably. It was great to not have to worry about a crib. The house was also great for the three adults on our trip – lots of space and privacy.
We spent every afternoon in the pool and hot tub, and it was heaven. Truly beautiful backyard. We had one small problem where water to the pool wasn't properly turned off after pool maintenance - Acme sent someone out in minutes to fix it. Great customer service. It would be nice to have a few pool toys and floats, but that was a small thing.
Acme was also great in the time leading up to the booking. I had lots of questions and they got back to me promptly and accurately, and clearly tried to make things work great for us.
The kids also loved Ruth Hardy park – right across the street, easy to get to, and a great playground and green space. The “mini playground” in the yard was not very nice and the kids didn’t use it, but that didn’t matter since the park was so close. Just good for folks to know that wasn’t a highlight.
The grapefruit tree was one of my favourite parts of the house - delicious! The kitchen had everything we needed, the wireless Internet worked well, and the free local calling came in handy for taxis, restaurants, etc.
We rented a few items from Desert Baby Rentals (kids' life jackets, a high chair) and Acme was great in that respect as well - having someone there to meet them and make sure the drop-off and pick-up went smoothly.
The setting would also be perfect for families with older kids, girls’ trips, and the pool/hot tub at night offered a lovely romantic setting. We loved the house – very comfortable and family friendly.
To me, the only downside was the price. Especially because the extra fees got a bit pricey when you added it all together. I understand that cleaning and utilities (and taxes) are expensive, but it was a lot when everything gets added together. I see the fees are also up quite a lot this year (the rental fee and the other add-on fees), which is too bad.
Overall, this house was excellent for a young family like ours. We definitely hope to stay here again!
