Fawn of the Lake stay in middle of December was breathtaking this year. We
stayed for three nights over a weekend and had some of the best family time
We took a short five minute walk to the south shore pier that extends over a
100 yards for brilliant views the snow covered mountains that surround the
lake. I don't think it was possible to take a bad photo.
After the first day of snow skiing we used the garage to shake off the snow
and clean up our gear without tracking the water inside. Then played some
table tennis while we made some fresh BBQ chicken. We fit two families at
the (dining) table and passed around the foods as well as the funny stories
of the year.
To sum up my review I would recommend this place as I have already started
to plan our return. This was our families fifth time to rent a cabin in the
Tahoe area. The price was very reasonable for what all amenities that you
get. This cabin is very close to the lake and a major brand grocery store
both that you can short walk to. It is fully furnished kitchen and with
plating that could serve our two families. The crock pot slow cooker came in
very handy. The crock pot recipes on the fridge for inspiration was a nice
touch. There where vintage board games that kept our children entertained as
well as the table tennis and horse shoe pits in the big back yard. I was
also able to watch Monday Night Football on the big screen (maybe a 50
inch). The Internet speed and reliability was great. The water pressure was
good and the temperature was hot when I needed it. The gas fireplace works
great and dries out ski gloves like expected. There is a also central heat
that we used.
The Fawn on the Lake cabin is new building and very clean. Everything I used
in the cabin worked. I liked the light switch and drawer labels.
