Outstanding in every way!

5 of 5
Very secluded, private and quiet. Huge redwood forest all around LittleHouse, the air is full of oxygen and the scents of the woods. A trickling stream below. You'll sleep like a baby. Close to the coastal attractions yet just twenty five minutes from the conveniences of Carmel/Monterey. Well designed, well thought-out cabin and accommodations. The owners are great. This has been a wonderful experience.

Perfect Family Retreat in Big Sur

5 of 5
We have visited Big Sur each summer for years now, usually camping or staying in one of the local cabins or hotels. This was an ideal spot for our family and we hope to rent here again from now on. We stayed in the larger cabin with our two young children and the owner was wonderful and very friendly. The space was both rustic and also incredibly comfortable, packed with board games, great movies, and a wood burning stove. There is a skylight in one of the bedrooms, allowing for late-night stargazing and the porch was very comfortable. It is remote and yet close to Bixby Bridge, making it easily accessible to Big Sur and Carmel. The redwood trees and stream are so relaxing. We look forward to future visits.

It truly is a retreat

5 of 5
Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family of 6 (including 4 children aged 12-19) stayed in the property for 6 nights. Arriving at night we were unprepared for the views that we would face the next morning as the photos on the webiste cannot do full justice to the awe-inspiring views of coastline, mountains and canyon from this property. Much thought has been given to the positioning of windows, garden seating, hot tub, and even the meditation deck to take full advantage. The property was immaculately presented and equipped with every detail considered for making the stay as relaxing as possible. The absence of a dishwasher was a minor detraction and understandable given the preciousness of the water supply. We had no reason to use the manager during the stay as everything had been taken care of. In any case, having the owner close by and his willingness to help out meant that we were very well looked after. The owner was wonderful and an absolute delight to talk to and we found much to talk about on topics ranging from art to architecture, sculpture to spirituality, and he had fascinating stories to tell about the Big Sur area. I will not cover sights, restaurants or attractions as these are covered by numerous guidebooks and everyone has their own tastes and preferences. I would have been happy not to move from the house for 6 days and it is telling that 4 essentially teenaged children were equally able to occupy themselves with art, reading and adventure. An observation - the drive up to the property is not for the faint-hearted but does become less intimidating with experience! Overall we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property and would happily have stayed for ever.
