I am a pessimist when it comes to online reviews, but this cabin is one time where the rave reviews are warranted. Wow, what a great property, it is very clean, well equipped, spacious and can easily accommodate the 14 people the VRBO ad claims. The cabin has that traditional rustic Alpine forest feel to it, yet, it has many top amenities that a small family or large group could ask for. New appliances and spotless fridge that even came stocked with a few bags of party ice! Beyond the bear and fishing motifs throughout the cabin, the natural wildlife outside is the ultimate decoration. Breathtaking nights full of stars and the occasional howl of coyotes help to leave behind the hustle and bustle of the real world. Our family of four quietly watched dozens of different animal species from the second floor deck that overlooks the mountains. We took our young 6 and 5 year olds and they had a great time in bunk beds, playing foosball/ping pong/board games, exploring the wilderness and watching the neighborhood chipmunks scurry about. The cabin was great for us, but also easily able to handle multiple families. The design of the cabin caters to multi-family fun with plenty of interactive games, and even boasts a huge amount of space around the pool table (no shots obstructed by walls). Extremely convenient to Big Bear Blvd shopping and dining, the zoo, and Bear Mountain skiing, but the best part may be the neighborhood itself... The cabin is in a secluded area that offers much more privacy than most Big Bear cabins can provide. This was not your average rental cabin ... we will be back. Thank you for the memories!
