I stayed in the cottage for 10 days at the end of May, and could not have had a better experience. The cottage is freestanding and provides complete privacy. The design is graceful - the exterior is a tudor style that matches the main house. The interior is quite spacious, with a separate living room, bedroom, and even an office to work in. It was immaculate on my arrival, and the owners provided a complimentary bottle of wine and fresh flowers to brighten it and make me feel welcome.
The location is another big plus. The cottage is situated adjacent to the owner's home, in a beautiful neighborhood in Berkeley, so parking was easy and safety was not an issue. UC Berkeley is 5 minutes away, and College avenue is just a short walk. The Rockridge Bart station as also quite close by, and there is easy car access to San Francisco via highway 24.
The owners were lovely; happy to chat or answers questions when I had them, but also happy to let me have privacy. I can't imagine a better spot to stay on my next trip to the Bay area, so I am hoping the cottage is free the next time I am in town!
