My group stayed for a Thursday-Sunday block in the first and second week of August at this Oakhurst house. It was very, very hot (95-100 F), but even as large as the house is, it was never uncomfortable. The creek was nearly dry because of the drought, but it was still very nice outside in the morning, and at dusk. The house is close to Yosemite NP's southgate entrance (30-40 min), so we went to Mariposa Grove to do some hiking. It is also very close to Bass Lake where we hiked also. Bass Lake was full of boats, jet skis, and floats, so that's probably something we will plan for next time. Bring a pop up tent, or a cabana because it will get very hot in August at Bass Lake.
Everything about the house is great. It's on nearly two acres of surrounding land with fresh green grass, and several outdoor patios (I counted 5). There is a large game room, fire place (which we did not use), and 4 bedrooms. There are two very large master bedrooms (one guest, and one main), with 3.5 bathrooms. The living room is excellent. This house could be even better during winter, but was more than adequate in the summer.
The property manager was beyond nice. She left a bottle of red or white wine for us, allowed us to check in early, and check out late, she made sure that everything was to our liking, and was quick with communication. We actually never met, or even spoke in person. I am sure she would not mind to do both of those things, but that's kind of the way that I prefer. She was very prompt with text messages! Which I can absolutely prefer. If we had a problem she would respond within minutes or even seconds (even late at night 11pm!). All in all a great trip. We had 10 people, so a couple of us had to use air mattresses, and one was provided. We also had two small dogs. Clean towels, sheets, and air conditioners in every room. There were multiple fireplaces, a large gas grill (enough for two costco racks of ribs, or two large tri-tips), and great management. Good for groups, families, weddings, or anyone that wants to get away from the grit and grime of camping, but still wants to experience getting away. Would highly recommend.
