Fantastic Gem on the Island

5 of 5
Balboa is a second home for us and we've stayed at a number of places over the years. This is our new favorite! A wonderful location, wonderful house and great setup. We woke up every day to watch the sunrise from our master suite balcony and were able to watch it set each evening from the rooftop deck. Being on the Grand Canal allowed us to experience the vibrance of the island chatting with families as they walked by and provided the perfect waterfront space to enjoy a glass of wine. We can't say enough about this house. Great BBQ, great gourmet kitchen (we had a chef friend with us one night and he loved the range and the setup). All of this while still being a beach house, so the kids didn't feel like they needed to walk on egg shells around the place (e.g., comfortable but homey couches, pergo (I think) floors, and a glitch here and there with a light or hot water that wasn't so hot, but not one thing to take away from the 5 stars). Oh and the kayak lent itself to a great escape on the water each morning. We just hope that we can get back here soon!

A Great Getaway

5 of 5
My wife and I spent t spring break here with our two teenage boys and had a great time. Due to the great location of the house, the access to the pacific ocean beaches was a very easy ferry boat ride and walk, and we took advantage of that every day we were there. The house was supplied with everything we needed - plenty of dishes, silverware and utensils to make our own meals, chairs and an umbrella for the beach, a grill, and an outside patio area in the front to sip coffee and watch the neighborhood. The place was very clean when we arrived, and the beds were very comfortable. Should we ever choose to return to SoCal again, we would definitely be interested in staying here again!

oh my! is right

5 of 5
It was great getting my family together. Both my children made great use of the bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards. They even got me on a kayak. The island is beautiful and the house is well located and all the amenities were in good shape. I'm coming back in 2016.
