An Experience that went from Everything WRONG to Everything RIGHT

5 of 5
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and two other couples decided they wanted "A Tahoe Experience in the Snow". I was the person assigned to make the reservation - which was a poor choice since I have NEVER reserved a cabin online and generally stay away from the internet. I don't remember exactly how I found the Pavati Lakefront. I probably found it on HomeAway but my BIG mistake was to google the address and then look at the property on Trulia. This real estate website showed artist renderings of a proposed $3 million property renovation of the Pavati property. WOW, this is incredible! I thought the photos represented the actual property I was renting for $450 a night. We arrived at the property around sunset and parked in front of the two-story cinderblock property. "I think we've been taken!" I told my friends as we glared at the property. We found the keys and settled into the property. But I had to call the property managers to complain. I thought I was renting a mansion. I wanted a refund. Between the property managers and myself I realized it was my mistake. It wasn't what I expected - but it wasn't falsely advertised either. They offered me a small discount for the let-down. My wife and the other couples settled in and we actually loved the property. It was clean and efficient. There wasn't any snow but the property was actually right on the lake and beautifully located. Don't expect a three million dollar mansion - but expect a very nice experience.
