I spent a month at this beautiful lake house and just loved my time here. The house is gorgeous and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner says she’s a ‘stickler’ for details and you can really tell she’s thought of everything you may want. The kitchen even had a crock pot and magic bullet.
The yard and lake are stunning. There are so many cozy places to sit; under the wisteria, on the dock, by the outdoor stove, under the apple tree. We really enjoyed the apples and all the creatures that seemed to want apples every day. The rabbits, deer, birds and squirrels were plentiful, I even saw a mink. The house is so private and located in a quiet cul du sac that it is hard to believe you can walk to the grocery store and movie theater in 20 minutes. There are so many beautiful walks and trails around different lakes where you can leave straight from your door and don’t need to drive anywhere. We even walked to Goldstream provincial park to watch the salmon run. We rented bikes for $3 an hour at the community center, located a few minutes away, and biked on a dedicated path called ‘The Galloping Goose’ that went straight into downtown Victoria. East Sooke Regional Park is about 20 minutes away and had tons of beautiful coastline hiking. Even after a month visit there were still parks I hadn’t gotten to yet, there are just so many around that area.
If you are looking for peace, scenery and a perfect home base to explore the area stay at the lake house. I just can’t say enough great things about it!
