Beautifully private getaway

5 of 5
We stayed here for a week. Signy and Doug were informative but unobtrusive hosts. The views from the patio of the straits and the Olympic mountains beyond are stupendous. The suite itself is beautifully appointed with everything you need. The property is in a very quiet location about five minutes drive from Sooke. There is a cafe for breakfast within walking distance. Sooke itself is very laid back and arty. We'd recommend the expensive but superb restaurant at Sooke Harbour House for a special evening meal, and the Shirley Delicious cafe for amazing wholesome breakfasts. Eating on the patio at the suite is a great experience too.

A Fantastic Place

5 of 5
What a fantastic spot. The setting creates an immediate feeling of peace, nestled in the fir and arbutus and on the edge of the ocean. The huge windows let you see the view from every room in the house. Each bedroom has its own wing and bathroom, so three couples could easily share it and feel that they had their own private space to retreat to, and a wonderful and open common area for socializing. It could also accomodate much larger groups comfortably. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, and the house feels very much like a home. It was wonderful to sit in the hot tub overlooking the bay. We brought our canoe and launched it right from the house to explore the shorline and nearby coves. The area is also great for walking. We definitely hope to return!
