Location, View and Location

I spent a month at this beautiful lake house and just loved my time here. The house is gorgeous and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner says she’s a ‘stickler’ for details and you can really tell she’s thought of everything you may want. The kitchen even had a crock pot and magic bullet. The yard and lake are stunning. There are so many cozy places to sit; under the wisteria, on the dock, by the outdoor stove, under the apple tree. We really enjoyed the apples and all the creatures that seemed to want apples every day. The rabbits, deer, birds and squirrels were plentiful, I even saw a mink. The house is so private and located in a quiet cul du sac that it is hard to believe you can walk to the grocery store and movie theater in 20 minutes. There are so many beautiful walks and trails around different lakes where you can leave straight from your door and don’t need to drive anywhere. We even walked to Goldstream provincial park to watch the salmon run. We rented bikes for $3 an hour at the community center, located a few minutes away, and biked on a dedicated path called ‘The Galloping Goose’ that went straight into downtown Victoria. East Sooke Regional Park is about 20 minutes away and had tons of beautiful coastline hiking. Even after a month visit there were still parks I hadn’t gotten to yet, there are just so many around that area. If you are looking for peace, scenery and a perfect home base to explore the area stay at the lake house. I just can’t say enough great things about it!

Great Corporate Retreat!

5 of 5
We had the pleasure of spending a week here on Shawnigan Lake for our corporate retreat in September. We were a group of 4 different families. The photos do not do this place justice, it is truly luxurious. It was so peaceful with beautiful views. We often saw the float planes taking off and landing on the lake. The house met our every need and exceeded our expectations. Jim and Chanone were kind, personable and very helpful. We really felt comfortable in their home. We have many great memories from our stay.

Donna

5 of 5
It was quite a joyous experience to have coordinated with Donna my stay as she was helpful and very reasonable in accommodating my special needs. I have stayed at nice locations and would not go back due to owners I have dealt with; Donna really stands amongst the best of them. Thank You, Donna.
