Absolutely Fabulous!

5 of 5
Have you ever seen that TV home renovation show where everyone screams at the completion of the reno's "Move that bus!!" and the family then gasps, gapes and goes bananas over the miracle they're about to take part in? That's what it's like walking into Lisa's house. You can't quite believe YOU get to be THERE! You drive up, and it's a 'nice' neighbourhood, very Canadian, suburban. Ample parking, easy to find, and you park the car. Front garden well maintained. Then, you open the door: It's THAT moment when the breathtaking view can not be under estimated. An elegant dining room, a reading room for days of rest and relaxation, but you'll see those in a moment, just walk into the main room - there's room enough for a battalion! But it's the view.....you get up early on your vacation to soak it in and you eat breakfast and lounge on the terrace - wine and cheese. Lisa and Blake have a home on the corner lot - there are no neighbours peeking in - privacy! The house is furnished with everything you can imagine, and then some - the bar sink, the master bath, the gas bbq, and a basement for a gaggle of teens to hang out and claim as their own - games, games and games - electronic and old fashioned (the kind that require no electricity) We were 9 - two families blended for a perfect 7 days together - can you live with another family that long and not start to twitch a little at each other's idiosyncrasies? We have known each other for over 20 years, and we're seriously sad and disappointed to leave - each other's company and the house that helped facilitate bringing us from continents apart to our shared vacation - having the space, luxury and ambience - the house. The from the inlaid bamboo roof detailing to a very handy and welcome easy-to-use washing machine (decorative to functional). The area, Nanaimo offered so many activities for all of us of different age groups and temperaments - Rathtrevor Beach is a MUST, and if you happen to hit the right time of year, so is the Bathtub Race Parade. One thing you CAN NOT miss - a trip to Pacific Rim Natural Reserve/Kwisitis Visitor's Centre. Want to challenge yourself and your teens? Swing from the trees in the nearby zipline parks (a bit pricey) or simply investigate the local boutique wineries. We would not hesitate to recommend this property, it's managers or experience the summer again at their home. Thanks Lisa - for facilitating memories that will last a lifetime!

drinks on the deck

5 of 5
we just ended our absolutely lovely week in this home rental by the sea.....we we were so excited when we arrived to find this lovely accommodation with the amazing view....we found every thing in the home top notch.....the hostess was exceptional in giving us any answers to questions about the area and even going so far as to finding us a place to go out dancing....we can,t say enough good things about her and the place ....kayaking from right out front daily to drinks on the deck every evening.......comfy beds and abundant linens , kitchen fully stocked , even a selection of videos......we did not want for anything.....we WILL be back ........

Great place to stay!

5 of 5
The condo we rented for 10 days was beyond our expectations and the property was gorgeous! The booking process was easy and everything we were promised they delivered on. My wife used the pool often and it was sparkling clean which she really appreciated. The property is very well kept and very tidy. The units were fairly soundproof but you could definitely smell the bacon frying every morning (which my son really liked). We took our little dog and he loved the property and we loved the fact that we could have him with us on our holiday. There is a park near the entrance to walk your pet or let them do their business which was great. He wanted to play with the little black rabbits that inhabit the place and which you can approach quite close to...unless... you're an excited little dog! This is truly a family place to stay and we had a wonderful time. It was so peaceful and never seemed crowded that it almost seemed like our own place at times. The condo looked exactly as it is represented on the internet site. The property caretakers were very pleasant and very helpful when we had any questions. Every guest I saw there seemed really happy with their units and I heard of no complaints from anyone. The dock was nice and my son fished off it regularly. The only thing that would have been nice to see was a fish gutting station or trough on the dock as some people who brought in fish they caught in their boats cleaned them on the end or side of the dock which made a mess for others even though they rinsed it down. I have no problem recommending the Inn of the Sea condos at all and hopefully will be back.
