Spectacular Gorge Harbor retreat

4 of 5
The setting of this cabin is incomparable. A beautiful large, sunny deck, with hot tub, overlooks the comings and goings of the harbor. The cabin itself is well equipped with tons of kitchen accessories and ample bedding and towels. A small deep freeze is handy for the fishers in the family. On-site kayaks are: 1 single and 1 double (however, there was only 1 paddle available for both)...it's fun to kayak over to the marina store, shop, rent videos and even partake in morning yoga at the resort! Lots of great kayaking at your doorstep in beautiful clear, calm waters. Easy access to bike trails, too, if that's your thing. We biked to Carrington Bay as well as the new Whaletown Commons, both starting from "home". We loved the master bedroom view of the harbor and didn't mind the curtain which acts as the separator to the higher loft bedroom. All beds are super comfy! If you like somewhat rustic cabins, no wifi, relaxing on decks while watching seals, boats and seaplanes, and having a central "base", then you will love Wilcox 1!

A piece of Pender Paradise

5 of 5
We came to Pender for a relaxing ladies weekend and this place delivered. Beautiful view of the water tucked in amongst the trees, but not too far away from the main road - perfect! We really enjoyed sitting on the deck or behind the huge picture window to watch the boats pass. This place fit all our needs. Kitchen had everything. We had some teenage girls that felt safe getting out to explore. There was a lower floor bedroom that one of ladies using a cane could use (the property was very accessible to her). Lots of walking and hiking close by. It was also centrally located right where North Pender meets South Pender - so easy jumping off point for all of Pender. We really enjoyed our stay here and recommend it fully. I would book it again.

Idyllic island retreat

5 of 5
The relaxing and inspiring splendour of Kingfisher Cove cannot be adequately related in words...it needs to be experienced! The location is ideally situated midway between North and South Pender Islands at the end of a short road and next to a national park reserve...only minutes from groceries, restaurants, and shops, yet isolated from the hustle bustle of the world. Right from the initial entry down the driveway we were welcomed with cosy secludedness and charming garden decor. The cabin offers all the standard amenities one could desire in a home away from home, with the added benefit of a vaulted ceiling, breathtaking view from an expansive deck (great for yoga), and the mesmerizing and rustic glow of a wood stove. The glass-block walk-in shower is bright and invigorating complete with island views, and the bathtub on the deck calls out to spa lovers. Even in February we were able to bask on the upper deck, and lose ourselves admiring the ample sea life from the dock. For us, this was a winter retreat to be calm and take in the scenery; however, we could easily see that this location offers numerous opportunities for exploring nature and exercising. We look forward to our next visit when we can explore the hiking trails in the national park reserve and bring our kayaks to paddle about the calm waters of Bedwell Harbour and beyond. Highly recommended!
