Amazing Luxurious Apt w/ Every Detail Covered!

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed in two of Patrick's (the owner) apartments the week prior to our "Big Fat Brazilian Wedding", along with a few of our close friends and family. To say we were amazed when we walked into the apartment would be an understatement. This place is immaculate, top-notch luxury and you simply cannot find a better deal in Rio. Premium furnishings, state-of-the-art technology, and breath-taking views are just a few of the details that made this apartment so memorable. Patrick has clearly spent a lot of time and money investing in this place, so if you do come stay, please take care of it! Next time we visit Rio, I'm going to try to get this spot again - 100%. A+++++ 5-star! Quick anecdote that I think is worth mentioning- when we arrived to the apartment, my (then) fiance and I realized I had left my laptop bag in the taxi (along with my laptop, iPad, $1000, medicine, etc etc). Needless to say, I was freaking out. Anyway, we headed back to the airport in hopes of trying to find the taxi driver and while we were en route, we got a call from one of my friends who was already at the apt informing me that my laptop bag had been returned. Needless to say, I was immensely relieved and the first thing I asked my friend was "did you guys give the driver a tip?" "No we didn't, but the owner Patrick gave him like $20 for you" Patrick never as much as even told me that he had done such a thing, much less ask for me to reimburse him for the $20. He did it not for recognition, but b/c it was the right thing to do. He didn't realize it at the time, but in so doing, he gained a ton of respect and loyalty from these gringos! Amazing property, location, and owner! Thanks so much for the memories, Patrick! God bless!

Great Location in bustling Ipanema

5 of 5
This was a great base for a 9 day stay in Rio. The location was pretty much ideal - 2 mins from Ipanema beach, with lively bars and shops all around, shady streets to walk in, and right next to the heart of bossa nova, the avenida de vinicius moraes, where Jobim wrote Girl from Ipanema. the apartment was clean, a decent size, functional and comfortable. Nice building and a sensible code access system which makes it ideal for families with independent children as you don't have to mess around with different sets of keys. It would have been nice if there had been a washing machine and the stereo didn't work - if the landlord could sort those things out it would be pretty much perfect.

Perfect Villa for our Rio Wedding

5 of 5
We rented the Villa from May 26 to June 5, 2011, for our wedding. We had 50 guests from the United States coming to Rio and we rented several properties. This property is an exceptional property and provides the best comfort in my opinion. In comparison, our Honeymoon night was spent in one of the penthouse suites at the Copacabana Palace ($R 7,200 per night), and the only difference between the Copacabana Palace and the Villa is the service is far superior at the Villa. I contacted the owner via email and was able to meet with him in person at his office in New York. This was the first great experience with this property. The owner is a very gregarious, cheerful, and genuine person. He explained the property; showed us pictures & floorplans, and offered to help with any other needs. The Villa is tucked away on a private dead-end street. The street is gated off and is essentially free of any traffic. The Villa is the standout property on this little street and is elegantly lit by a single gas-fired lamp. The Villa is about three blocks from Post 3 on Copacabana Beach (5 minute walk), across the street from the Metro Stop, and on the major busline. Complimentary WiFi throughout the property and a provided laptop helped us to plan events and stay in touch. The entry uses a coded lock system so we never had to worry about losing a key or being locked out. The kitchen is a fully-loaded spacious room with all the high-end appliances a chef could desire. (Viking range, subzero fridge) We held a rehearsal dinner Feijoada for 70 people with ease. We wanted to serve beer for the dinner and a staff member arranged for a complete draft system to be delivered. (Keg, Refrigerator, taps, cups, and coasters) We had 15 people (including 2 kids) comfortably stay at the Villa. We converted the library into another bedroom to help out with space. Each day we were greeted by a full breakfast spread made up of fruit, breads, pastries, eggs, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea, chocolate milk, etc. The staff varied the breakfast and treated us to first-class meals each day. (the stuffed French toast is amazing!) Each day at least three staff members arrived early in the morning to quietly make breakfast, clean, water the plants, do laundry, etc. The staff provided excellent customer service. If we had any questions or needs, there was a staff person available to take care of it. I was extremely impressed by the service and care taken with this property.
