Casita 2 is a Relaxing Joy with Many Extras

5 of 5
My husband, who is a windsurfer, and I stayed at Casita 2 at the end of March and we were very pleased with the property. It is on Lac Bay, a 3 minute drive away from the windsurfing area, so it is very easy to go back and forth - either to eat, change, or pick up the things you forgot. You can also walk to the windsurfing area in 15-20 minutes if you choose. The part of the bay it sits on is not very swimmable, but it provides a lovely view and a great breeze. There is a nice area to sit out in front of the Casita, and a hose for washing your diving/snorkeling equipment. Inside, the living area is utilitarian -not much furniture, but just what you need. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, stove, and a clothes washer as well as small appliances including a toaster and a blender. (Tip1: don't tip the blender upside down without the cover on to pour it out or the Ninja blades will fall out and get you! Tip 2: use google translate to decipher the Dutch controls on the washer.) The bedroom had a very comfortable kingsize bed, and plenty of storage in a bureau and closet. There is a large screened patio with a picnic table out through the bedroom in the back. The bedroom is air conditioned and there are ceiling fans in the apartment as well. What was really great about the apartment was all the extras the owners generously provided including big fluffy beach towels, extra sheets, grocery bags, an inflatable paddleboard, and bicycles (but you will need to be tall to ride them.) There was also reliable internet access and cable television and a music system. The Casitas are a 10 minute drive from Kralendijk, and in a remote area, so you can't go walking outside at night. But you can sit outside and enjoy the stars, the breeze, and the "wild" donkeys that come to visit. As another added bonus, there is a good restaurant next door as well. We would stay there again if we ever get the chance, and we recommend it to everyone who wants to be near Lac Bay (which, by the way, also has some of the best snorkeling on the island.) Thanks for the great stay!

Great view, cool breezes!

4 of 5
We had the pleasure of house sitting this beautiful property for 6 weeks. All living amenities are here, large kitchen, gas stove, large refrigerator with freezer plus outdoor barbeque. House is all open for breeze way cooling. A/c was used only for sleeping. Property has incredible shade trees. Outdoor living at its finest. Lots of parking. Divers storage and rinse facilities with full laundry. We love staying here and hope others will too.

Relaxing

5 of 5
CoralSea Aprtments is a small complex of three, private bungalows with a center courtyard that has a nice, private pool that is shared amongst the three units. Our bungalow was a two-bedroom unit. It has a fully equipped kitchen (no oven), a washroom with a hot water shower, one bedroom with a queen sized bed and the other bedroom with two single beds (that can be pushed together to made one bigger bed). There is a living room with TV and a dining table. There is also a handy washing machine that helps to make packing light easier. The large, covered patio has a big table and chairs as well as a couple of loungers. A big wash tank and private gear locker make for easy diving prep and clean up. The owners are Irene and Duncan. They are great hosts and very attentive. A cold bottle of champagne was waiting for us in the fridge when we got to the unit. They met us at the airport and ensured everything was in order for us. The units are located near the airport and several great dive sites including the Hooker wreck. It’s an east drive to the ocean and to town. The bedrooms both have air conditioning units which can be used at night for comfortable sleeping. CoralSea Apartments is a good choice for families or diving couples. You can get an unlimited air package from Dive Friends and be totally independent with your dive excursions. Tanks are available 24/7 at Dive Friends…so your options are endless with so many shore diving sites on the island. Irene and Duncan went out of their way to help us book everything we needed and make sure our stay was fun and comfortable.
