Recent Bonaire Reviews

Spacious, comfortable and convenient.

5 of 5
The stay was exactly as advertised. The property managers went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were met. Lolymar is a beautiful and gracious host. We could not have been more pleased with their efforts to make our vacation ideal. The rooms were spacious, high ceilings, four poster bed, with fresh fragrant flowers in every room. Enjoyed the use of the hammock and relaxing by the water on the large patio. Close to everything. Would highly recommend.

Another wonderful 2 weeks at Beachcomber Villas 23Aug2014-06Sept2014.

We dove. We ate. We sat on the terrace for sundowners. Yet again, we loved our stay at BCV. This time we had our daughter and new son-in-law with us, so we occupied both apartments. Beachcomber Villas is as described in all the preceding reviews. All of them are true. As one would expect, the place is clean and secure, the towels soft, the hot water hot, A/C works, kitchen fully equipped, the beds comfortable, and on and on. It is no mean feat to accomplish this on a small island, and takes a lot of hard work to keep it so. Tim and Leanne do that work when you’re not looking. Make no mistake: BCV is a special place, and it is special because of Leanne and Tim. They are two of the kindest, most gracious and considerate people you could ever hope to meet. I wonder when they have a life. Seems like they always turn up when you might need a hand, or just to perform some small act of kindness, whether it is seeing us off in the morning (with rinse water in the back of the truck) or meeting us returning from a day of diving. We’re usually pretty self-maintaining on Bonaire, but this time we left it in Leanne’s capable hands to deal with restaurant reservations, dive classes for daughter/SIL, and other activities. Everything went off like clockwork. Tim was a bit banged up this time, with injuries to his arm/shoulder. I still couldn’t convince him to leave the equipment to me and Matt. We told him to “stop it” and he said it was his job to make our vacation as enjoyable as possible, in every way. We were talking one evening about future trips to Bonaire. M & C being youngsters just starting out, I pointed out that there were many places to stay on Bonaire, some all-inclusive, at all sorts of prices that might make the trip more economical for them. He said “Yeah, but they don’t have Tim and Leanne.” I guess that sort of sums it up. Thank you, Tim & Leanne, for sharing your home with us. Brad & Sheldon Matt & Chappell

Heaven..

Casa Iguana left us speechless for days. I cannot even begin to relay how much It exceeded our expectations. We knew it was going to be very nice just given the location, but the photos don't do it justice, if you can imagine that. What you feel when you arrive and walk out to the deck is just instant euphoria. The crystal blue water and sunsets are unbelievable. We watched the sunset every night and each night was better than the last. The villa is beautifully decorated and the beds are very comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed along with various spices and condiments. Ron and Joyce were also very accommodating for us but we did not have the pleasure of meeting in person. Mariette met us on arrival and was just a wonderful, helpful person. She made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Although the weather was hotter than average, we did not have any problem with the A/C only being in the bedrooms. The breeze was great and the entire back wall of sliding glass doors can be opened. We just didn't want to leave. We even named the reef in 'our' backyard and marked it (Sunset Reef) with a yellow stone. Diving the reef from the steps was easy and there was just so much life from entry to exit. We also used Tropical Divers for our tank rentals. They are the only shop with steel, din tanks. They were just super nice and very knowledgeable about every dive site. If you go, tell them Diana and Roger will be back soon! There is also a shop right next door at the Belnam resort but we are partial to steel and our gear is set up for din. The resort is quiet and is basically a set of condos so it posed no privacy threat. It was just the two of us so we were very glad for that. There is also a clean dive locker with lock and huge rinse tanks, along with a shower outside which was great. I can't think of anything that could have been set up better. It was just perfect. It is also in a very safe, upscale location. There is a newer grocery store that is worth finding vs. the warehouse types we saw many of. The name escapes me but everything was extremely fresh and priced reasonably. The reef is already calling...We cannot wait to come back!!
