This is an excellent property. The location can't be beat if you want to stay near St. George’s. It is a very easy walk to the center of town, yet tucked quietly away. Groceries, great restaurants, and a pleasant, low-traffic evening walk are steps away. This made it a much better choice, we think, than an isolated resort or too close to hectic Hamilton. A multi-day bus/ferry pass, which you can purchase at the St. George's Post Office, gets you anywhere if you take the time to enjoy the ride. Service to St. George's is as often as every 15 minutes.
The house itself is in great shape, with three spacious bedrooms and two baths, with plenty of privacy for families. The kitchen is roomy, modern and well-equipped, with a small breakfast bar and a separate formal dining room seating eight. There are separate TVs upstairs and down, and even a pool table. The house is up some steps, and so it has great views of the harbor while not being too close to neighbors.
It is hard to say anything bad about the house. If you can't handle stairs, it is probably not for you, but we did not find the climb difficult. Humidity was a problem, but that's true everywhere on the island, and we didn't run any of the air conditioners (in almost every room). We mainly ate out for lunch to moderate the high cost of food, hitting the specials at Wahoo’s Grille and the CV Cafe, while eating in for breakfast and dinner, or using the nearby Chinese take-out. Somer’s Market is open early and even open Sundays.
We have had good and bad vacation rentals; this place rates right at the top.
