We stayed in this lovely self-catering two-bedroom apartment in March (2015). From the moment we walked through the doors we knew that we had found the ideal location for exploring not only St. George's, but all of Bermuda.
The main hallway is wide and well lit. The beds are comfortable. The heating (& cooling) system is efficient and quiet. The Great Room has beautiful exposed Bermuda Cedar wood beams. The bathroom is completely new. The kitchen is large and fully equipped with new appliances. There is a balcony, with a BBQ, overlooking the harbour and Ordnance Island. During our stay we were able to see several tall ships in the harbour. There are laundry facilities in the building.
St. George's is a great place to base yourself for a short or extended stay in Bermuda. It is close to the airport and the taxi fare to St. George's is very reasonable. We purchased March bus passes at the post office across the street from the apartment. With the bus passes we were able to travel from one end of the island to the other, including travel on the ferries. St. George's is a quaint historical town with lots of spots to explore. In addition to the post office, there is a visitors' centre, banks, an ATM (available 24 hrs.), grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants and lots of shopping opportunities. Tobacco Bay Beach is about a fifteen minute walk from the apartment. Tobacco Bay is a great place to spot colourful fish.
The apartment is above "Just Add Water", a water sport and retail business owned by Faith and Neil. Faith and Neil were great. They were responsive to inquiries and provided us with lots of useful information. Cathy works in the "Just Add Water" shop. She was an amazing resource...a very friendly and approachable person. We enjoyed our many conversations with her. We rented kayaks one morning. It was a windy day, but Ian was able to find an ideal location for paddling in a sheltered bay that provided a bonus opportunity for exploring a mangrove swamp. Ian was a skilled and knowledgeable guide. You should take a tour, if you are able.
We will definitely return to this location on another visit to Bermuda. The facility and the "Just Add Water" people are "Bermudiful". :D
