A little slice of Heavan

5 of 5
This quaint little place was a little slice of heaven. Slightly rustic, but still a great value for the rate, loved this place. The stove needs to be updated and a full vs. medium size refrigerator would be nice, but again the value was solid. Val the caretaker is a wonderful guy and took care of a flat tire on the owner's bicycle, so we could ride ten minutes into town to go out for dinner and shopping. He also has two dogs that are very good at letting you know if someone is around. Although inconvenient due to the speed bumps and erratic drivers, I strongly recommend taking the bikes on the ten minute ride south into town. The people there are wonderful. Local Belizeans are a wonderful experience unto themselves. This place is also great for being off the beaten path. With the sea just steps away from the patio, your biggest choice for the day can very well be eating breakfast right on the sea, or the patio that overlooks it. After the airlines screwed up our arrival date with delays, the owner was very flexible and accomodating in adjusting our stay. I highly recommend this place, a true diamond in the rough and a little slice of Heaven.
