Boston condo

4 of 5
The condo is charming, looks just like the photos in the listing. Good space for 2-4 people. The view is beautiful! There is no cable TV but a nice, large flat screened TV in the living room. We were told to connect our computer to it for viewing movies. (Didn't know how to do this.) There is very limited kitchen stuff-only spoons are grapefruit spoons. No coffee maker. No dedicated parking space and visitor parking was very limited. (We were told that having a parking space to go with the unit was too expensive.) Not a good situation if you have a car. Had to park somewhere off property and pray we didn't get towed. The subway, and a great grocery store, are a good 15 walk away. Blocks away from the JFK Library. Good places to run/walk. Nice workout room. About a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Boston or the airport. The deadbolt lock didn't line up and thus didn't work. There is a doorknob lock as well. There is a young man who will meet you to give you the key. That went smoothly. However, when we had trouble with the air conditioning the first morning we were there, he was reluctant to be working on the weekend. We ended up fixing it ourselves. In the end, the apartment was fine. There are some details that need attention to make it a stellar stay.

Convenient base for exploring Brussels

5 of 5
We chose this apartment for its proximity to the Van Orley International House, where our daughter had been staying for her semester abroad in Brussels. The location was perfect for us -- it is only a short walk to the subway. We felt expected and were warmly welcomed by the owner -- everything was brand new, including a greatly appreciated American-style coffee pot! You won't need a car, but if you drove to Brussels, you will find a convenient parking garage only half-a-block away. The neighborhood is busy, and has several grocery stores and inexpensive restaurants nearby. (The apartment faces the back of the building, however, so street noise is not a problem.) The apartment felt compact, yet spacious -- a bedroom, living room (with a convertible sofa bed), a kitchen, and a separate eating area. We felt very lucky to have found these accommodations, and would gladly stay here again.
