Great Escape

5 of 5
Excellent place for an out of the country experience. If you like to get away from it all in a wonderful house that has everything to offer. This is the one. You have spectacular views from two decks with great lounge furniture on both. A well stocked kitchen. Fabulous shower on second level (shown in pictures). You are only approx 150 yards from the reef so you can snorkel, dive, fish, take a tour of the island, have a night on the town experiencing the island food and drinks, or just relax... plenty of places to do that as well. We had a chef come in one night to cook for us... the food was delicious. There is also a local little restaurant about a two block walk from the house that had wonderful local style food.

We found paradise!!!

5 of 5
This beautiful house was everything we were told/saw in the photos and more!!!! Our group rented the whole house for 10 days of fun under the Honduran sun. With 14 crazy Canadians under 1 roof you would think at times it would seem a little crowded..... never the case. All 3 levels had ample living areas and when you combine that with our own private dock we had a home away from home in paradise. The main living area with the games room, stereo and flat screen was the place to be when we weren't exploring the island or in the brilliant blue waters just beyond our back door. Our hostess and host, Claire and Kevin Bloor of Blue Reef Properties, went above and beyond our expectations. From the moment we landed they were there to greet us and help with our every need! Because we had such a large group they brought extra transportation for us (we had rented a vehicle) which they knew we would need. They drove us to the local grocery/liquor store on our way to our mansion on the beach all the while explaining during the trip the history of the island and some must see sights. Upon arrival they made sure we knew all the features of the home and before they left they gave us a cell phone loaded with their personal numbers to use in case of emergencies. What more could we need? We loved the beaches and one beach side bar in particular called Sundowners. They brought out a huge flat screen so the Canadian crowd could watch hockey..... it was also one of the few bars that could handle the influx of 14 thirsty people with ease. I highly recommend this property, the property management company of Blue Reef Properties and Claire and Kevin Bloor.

good vacation

4 of 5
The property is beautiful. It is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. It states it sleeps 12 which it does, however it does not sit near 12 people in the living room or at the dinning room table. It does not have a safe and we felt a false sense of security with the alarm system. Jewelry even though hidden was stolen as well as some clothes. There wasn't enough cutlery, beach towels or dishes we found. We often ran out of toilet paper as well. internet and power outages were often and not necessarily the fault of the property managers. We did have a generator so we were not without power but would not have AC or use of the dryer when there was outages. The house is very clean and has a beautiful ocean view. We were disappointed to find out the beach was not ours but for the community and was a short walk away. We wanted beach front. Brad was very helpful with everything. Having a maid who is also willing to cook the odd meal for you would be nice. Brad did provide us with that but her cooking skills lacked somewhat. We do recommend this property providing the owners get a safe. Bananarama was not a very helpful dive centre and didn't appear to care about your safety, needs or whether or not the had your business. With power outages restaurants were without power as well which lead to long delays and no light whatsoever to see what you were doing. Highly recommend Free radical catamaran boat tour. Amazing food and staff. Beautiful snorkelling everywhere. The dolphin swim was awesome. Remember you get what you pay for, so book with professional companies for fishing and diving.
