Great central location, but private & quiet

5 of 5
Roatan is a beautiful island with a ton of character, friendly locals and a wide variety of things to do every day. We rented a 4x4 truck conveniently from the property manager, Kerry, and were able to explore the entire island. Casa Cervantes is in a great location that is central for everything! From the well-known (and rightly so!) white sand beaches & turquoise waters of West Bay Beach to Palmetto Point all the way to Paya Bay on the east end of the island. We also enjoyed the Sandy Bay beach a short walk from the house near Spooky Channel, even doing some fishing from the dock & hiring a boat from West End to pick us up there for a day to explore the waters fishing and snorkeling. We really enjoyed hiking at Carambola Gardens, Arch’s Iguana Farm, zip lining, dolphin encounter at Anthony’s Key Resort, Blue Harbor Tropical Arboretum, but especially loved our day spent at Hole in the Wall Bar near Jonesville for their all you can eat steak & lobsters. We also loved Rotisserie Chicken in West End. Casa Cervantes was the perfect size and layout for our family of 4. We only rented the main house and not the casita. The pool was awesome for a quick dip and the palapa was nice too. The wrap around decks with outdoor seating and views of the tips of the tropical trees and ocean in the distance was relaxing. There is a big guava tree outside the kitchen and we picked fresh guavas for breakfast every morning. My boys would collect coconuts and the gardener would open them up with his machete for fresh milk everyday too! Just make note that the house only has a wall AC unit in the master bedroom that you can turn on at night. It did get a bit hot and stuffy for our boys and in the evenings, but they have fans and you can open up the windows & doors to get a little cross-breeze. Also beware that although there is a washer/dryer, you are on an island so everything rusts and all of our clothes came out with rust stains, so wash with caution. The house has most everything else you need, including beach towels. They are a little old but still work the same nonetheless. There is a cd player available in the living room so bring some music. We love to cook and small shops and vendors are everywhere, as well as 2 big grocery stores that have everything you need. The only other suggestion I would have is if they could get some decent knives for those that like to cook. Overall, Casa Cervantes was a great vacation home for my family and I’d love to go back!

Beautiful and sunny apartment!

5 of 5
It was a fabulous vacation we had in this colorful, sunny and vivid wood apartment in the Caribbean. The terrace with hammocks was ecstatic. The house itself had a summer feel inside. All furniture and decors were carefully put up together. It was an incredible home altogether. The location is excellent too. Although secluded, the place is near the lovely beach of West Bay and other tourist spots. Totally recommendable!

Another week in paradise

4 of 5
Location, location, location This is our second visit to this condo and I cannot say enough about the location. This condo is located on a quiet end of West Bay beach, so when the cruise ships are in you can enjoy a quiet beach without the craziness. The beach is directly at the bottom of the stairs from the deck and although the sea is a little grassy in this area you can still paddle, float and snorkel to your hearts content, the beautiful main beach with bars and restaurants is just a few minutes stroll away. The condo has a great layout and the master bedroom upstairs is huge. We had a couple of little issues, one with the air conditioner but Kevin the property manager was prompt to respond, I have never been able to get an AC guy out that quick to my home in the states (less than 45 minutes from calling Kevin). There were a couple of things broken in the condo, but I can imagine its hard to keep up with different renters coming in and out, but once reported they were taken care of. The property owners responded to all my questions and were a pleasure to work with. We travelled with our two teenagers and family friend, there was plenty of room for everyone. Jenson our driver was awesome, he was so accommodating and helpful, he took us on a great day trip to tour the island, we visited Camp Bay which is a must, the beach is beautiful and deserted, then Jenson took us to La Sirena, a little restaurant with the best fish we had eaten, the atmosphere was so friendly we did not want to leave. We also did the Dolphin swim at Anthony's key, amazing!!! Zip Lining at Southshore, those guys are so much fun. About 50 yards from the condo is a little resort called Las Rocas, they are so helpful in booking any trips you would like to take and the guys are the bar are very friendly, its a great place to watch the sunset. We will be returning as soon as we can.
