Nice Place!

5 of 5
This is the best deal ever! Kason is such a great person and so helpful. He picked us up at the airport. Gave us his car to drive (he will give you a temporary license), we didn't have a GPS at first so he went the next day and got a wireless unit that we could use all over the island. He gave us a cell phone so we could call him anytime. I loved the place as it is in a very local area so you really get the culture. It's very clean and comfortable. Air conditioning is in the bedrooms and the open breeze keeps you cool in the main area. There is a washer and the line to hang your clothes dry. You need to bring seasonings, cooking oil, storage bags, shampoo (he provides soap) and of course anything you want to eat. We also didn't have a cookie sheet to use in the oven so we used foil and it was fine. This place is in a great area as my favorite beaches were bottom bay and foul bay. The water is rough on this side but the beaches are awesome! The tourist area is on the west side and this is on the southeast side. You are about 1 mile from the beach. One of our favorite places to eat is the bar and grill on Martins Bay. Another great restaurant was the Round House further up the east coast! Great time!

Spectacular view

The Fitzgerald House is a very basic house in a wonderful location if you like solitude and aren't afraid of rough water. The house has everything that you would need except a dishwasher and is accurately portrayed in the pictures and description on the listing. We were their during a particularly rainy week and ran out of hot water because the water is solar heated. With that said, we loved our stay and the house was perfect for what we wanted. This side of the island is rugged and not the least bit touristy. We had a car which I think is a must given the location of the property. We spent time on the beautiful beaches of the old Sam Lordes Castle resort next door which is totally in ruins and deserted. We took walks along that beach every morning. By far the best beach in the area is Foul Bay. Truly not to be missed. Great swimming and hardly any people. Gabby the housekeeper is wonderful. Always checked on our needs and even drove my son to the airport on the last day because he had a much later flight than ours. All in all a great stay. I would go back for sure....just need a little less rain next time!

First and foremost, a beautiful seaside location.

First and foremost, a beautiful seaside location. Knock your socks-off undeveloped coastline and beaches!!! The house really is a nod to the traditional beach bungalow style. No flat screen TV or A/C, yes to wireless high speed internet. We found it comfortable, family friendly & roomy. Bathrooms, recently renovated, spacious and modern. The full kitchen was well equipped, we used it quite a bit.. Gabbi, the housekeeper, her daily service, pleasant and diligent. She cooks a flying fish and cou-cou dish we’re still dreaming about. Not too far to bars, markets and restaurants. We rented a small car from Stoutes, in late at the airport, took a cab to the house and Stoutes delivered the car to the house early the next morning. When not out and about in the neighborhood, we took a few drives around the island; Bathsheba is not to be missed! Very reasonably priced – we’ll be back
