Excellent value; unforgettable trip

5 of 5
Wonderful trip! This was a perfect fit for what we were looking for: cute lodging, but affordable and included transportation. The hotels in Barbados are SO expensive. We attended a wedding at the Hilton and stayed a couple nights. The room rates were outrageously high. And drinks are way overpriced. I hate that. I stayed with a group of four at this rental home in February and was very pleased with the home and especially the value! I had never stayed at a vacation rental home outside the US so I was not sure what to expect. Kason and his family made me feel very comfortable about the safety of the island and the neighborhood. This is indeed a private home on a remote part of the island on a quiet street. It is a drive to many attractions, but close to Bottom Bay Beach, The Crane and Cutters - all great spots. The Marco Polo near the Crane was also a nice place to eat. Kason will help you with whatever you need when you arrive. We went to the fish market and bought fresh fish (amazing!). Kason brought over a grill so we could cook it at home. He was easy to reach using the cell phone he provided (no roaming charges on my phone = another plus). He's also got a great set-up on the GPS. He has pre-loaded many popular attractions so you can easily find them. What a relief not to have to try to read a map on vacation! The house is a good fit for budget-minded. It is clean and simple. If you are hoping for extravagance, you might look at the hotels in town, but if you are looking to experience the culture, explore the island and spend less....STAY HERE. We were out and about a lot so this was not an issue for us, but know that the air conditioners are in the bedrooms and will not effectively cool the whole house. It was warm in the living room mid-day. We took good care of the house and car and got the deposit back, no problem. I highly recommend this rental home. I'm grateful for the experience and will certainly be returning!

Saved our vacation!

5 of 5
Marilyn and Bob's Villa Teach-N-Song saved our vacation. After a brazen and ridiculous break-in at another Villa, we had the great fortune of moving into Teach-N-Song. Bob & Marilyn made an otherwise horrible start to a vacation so much better and their house was terrific. While the house is not directly on the beach, it is perched atop a cliff, allowing you to sit pool-side and watch/listen to the waves crash below you. There's a lovely, warm, calming breeze at almost all hours. While we were there in March, the breeze was ideal and never too much. You'll want to travel to the other side of the island for the beach anyway as swimming is not recommended on the East coast. A car is needed. The Crane Resort is a quick drive away. The house is open and airy. Our party of six felt comfortable and not cramped. Thank you Marilyn & Bob for saving our Barbados trip. Until next time!

You couldn't be closer to the ocean

4 of 5
The strongest point is Gaby, the responsible of the house, who provided help and care. She is a smiling, caring, and efficient lady. The house is very well equipped: the kitchen is very functionnal, there are towels for all the guests, washing machine and dryer work perfectly The garden is not fenced at all, so I don't recommend it to a family with small children, because the front of the garden is a steep fall in the ocean. There is a little beach in front of the house, but I strongly advise not to swim there. The view is impressive. My last warning is probably about the noise: at night, the roar of the ocean and the booms that waves make when they clash is very loud: if you live in a busy town, you should be ok, but we live in a very quiet place, so it was definitively to much for me.
