Mammy Apple Cottage was our home away from home for one week in Barbados. We spent our days exploring the island and all that it had to offer, but at the end of every day, we looked forward to going home to the tranquility and warmth of our cottage. The gentle island breeze that wafts through the shutters was always welcome after a day in the surf, sand and sun.
Our hosts, Keith and Kay, are lovely people, who made us feel so welcome and comfortable from the start. They have created a sanctuary on their beautiful property, a place where you can enjoy morning coffee on the patio surrounded by lush gardens, amidst a symphony of birdsong, and glimpse the occasional monkey or tiny gecko.
Nearby, we visited Andromeda Gardens, snorkelled through stunning coral reefs teeming with colourful tropical fish, swam with turtles, surfed warm tropical waters, explored the rugged east coast, and sampled delicious Barbadian food. We hope to return to the island soon, and will make Mammy Apple Cottage our home base once again.
