The property was very well maintained and the PM was very friendly. Close to the airport and easy to get to. I liked that it is located close to the beach and other water activities.

My wife and I have been to Barbados on several occasions and love the South coast. We thought we’d done it all, but this little gem of an apartment was a real eye-opener and superb value for money. If having the choice of two beaches to yourself within walking distance, a peaceful away from it all existence and yet being only five minutes drive or bus ride from Oistins shopping and night life appeals, try a couple of weeks at this ground floor apartment adjacent to Silver Sands beach. The main bedroom is to the rear of the building and is well air-conditioned if the ceiling fan isn’t enough – it was for us! The bathroom has an ample walk-in shower with room for two (!) and the permanent sea breeze keeps the generous sized living room and kitchen more than comfortable. There is also a nice veranda area out front ideal for eating or having a few friends over for drinks. The apartment is reasonably priced anyway, but I couldn’t believe the extras! Washing machine, iron and board, microwave, toaster, safe, colour TV and DVD, cable TV and high-speed wireless internet connection – everything you’d expect in a much pricier hotel! We normally hire a car, but there is a good bus service (no 11) which stops nearby outside the old Silver Sands Hotel which will take you to Oistins, then along the south coast via St Lawrence Gap to Bridgetown. The old hotel has been shut for some time which means the beach is yours to enjoy. There is also a charming smaller alternative called Rescue beach to the right some five minutes walk away past the equally convenient Surfers Bay restaurant and bar. It’s worth checking out the Surfers Bay bar -they serve great chargrilled food and have live music on a Sunday night, and are only two minutes walk from the front door! Oistins is five minutes away by car and has 24-hour mini marts, a Chefette and a KFC if you’re that way inclined, but also a great supermarket with a large range of healthy alternatives including Waitrose products on sale. Self catering is easy! On the other hand, five minutes walk in the other direction will get you to Silverpoint resort and restaurant (4*) where you can treat yourself to dinner or watch the kite surfers do their thing over lunch. If you like the choice of being able to have peace and quiet when you want it, then this part of the island is for you, and if you want a whole lot of bang for your buck, check out this apartment – it really is great value for money!!
