Lovely villa with fantastic facilities and views

5 of 5
We had a most enjoyable stay made on the beautiful island of Barbados. The villa is well equipped and is on a tastefully planned complex of villas and apartments. Relaxing on the back verandah enjoying the cool breezes, the view and a drink after a day at the beach can certainly be recommended. The main swimming pool was a very short walk from the front door and there was also a well equipped gym and 2 tennis courts. Franklyn of Churchfield was great, met us on arrival at the villa and ensured we had an enjoyable stay and Claire stayed in regular touch with us before and during our stay to make sure it all went smoothly and we had a good time. Highlights included the El Tigre cataraman and swimming with turtles (strongly recommended), St Nicholas Abbey, Heywoods beach (only a few miles away) and Paynes Beach (public entrance down side of 1 Sandy Lane), various restaurants in Holestown (about a 25 minute drive) and a drive down the east coast all the way to Crane's Beach (but beware the strong waves and undercurrents). We did not make it to Oistins for the Friday night fish fry, which many recommend. A car is a must but everywhere on the island is in easy reach, although the signs and maps leave a bit to be desired especially on arrival if driving from the airport!!! Overall a fantastic holiday and above everything else I recommend the people of Barbados for making us so welcome and a truly enjoyable holiday for me, my wife and 2 teenage children. I am sure we will be back!

Your own Private Paradise, minutes from the beach.

5 of 5
Where to start. We arrived at the house Friday afternoon after a long flight and a half hour drive from the airport. The drive up to the house from the gated community entrance was lovely. Sprawling green hills, a lovely looking clubhouse, comfortably separated houses and a stellar view of the ocean. The house is situated above the fairway of the golf course. Pulling up to the house I felt a feeling like I was back on my honeymoon & had arrived at my own little paradise. The lush vegetation and grandeur of the front terrace are a very warm welcome. We walked in to the main living room and immediately fell in love. Cute, yet comfortable furniture and coastal style, island accents throughout the design. Opposite the main entrance, the living room opened with french style doors onto an expansive covered terrace, outdoor eating area and an amazing pool deck. With the lave stone style pool area, it feels like being in the south of France. From the pool there are two staircases leading down to a nice size yard, changing area, sun deck with a hot tub and covered gazebo. From the hot tub / sun deck you can see all the way down to the ocean and most of the golf course. We watched some great sunsets from there. There were four good size bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, even though we only used the main one upstairs. The master bedroom has it's own covered terrace overlooking the whole back area, where I liked to sit and read in the mornings. The kitchen is to the left of the living room, if your'e looking out to the pool. It was easy to navigate and stocked with everything we needed. We mainly made breakfast and lunch, but went out for dinners. They also provided contacts for a local chef who came a few nights and made an excellent feast. The restaurants on the island were some of my favorites. We especially like The Cliffs & the Lone Star were my favorites. I had some of the best fish I've ever eaten and the steak at Lone Star was a 10. Though the house had a great pool, we tried to make it to the beach every day. It was a five minute drive down the road from the main entrance and they always had chairs for us, as the beach is private ish and run by the golf course staff. I'd recommend this property to any and everyone. Family vacations, honeymoons, or weekend getaways, it has something for all of them. Also the property manager was informative and nice, which you don't see very often. My wife and I are already looking into booking for next year.
