Magnificent Wedding Venue

5 of 5
My husband and I had our wedding at Salina del Mar and the sister property Casa del Amanecer in February 2014 with 22 guests. It was an amazing experience to have our family and friends with us the days before the wedding. Ericson did our catering and it was incredible and she was so accommodating. Everything went off without a hitch - thank you to Ericson and our wedding planner Amy Abbott. We had the ceremony facing the beach at Salina del Mar and the dinner by the pool at Casa del Amanecer. It was relaxed and absolutely gorgeous. Our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever seen. The staff is excellent and the villas, palapas, and grounds are magical. I wanted our guests to feel like they were in paradise and it worked 100%.

Great Place to Relax

5 of 5
We have rented several units through VRBO in Mexico and Hawaii. This is by far the best that we have ever stayed in. First of all, there were no surprises except maybe its location and view is breathtaking. What you see in the pictures and writeup is what you get. This property is very roomy, was clean and had everything we needed for our two week stay. This unit literally sits on the beach (second floor) and you have a wonderful panoramic view of the beach and the Sea of Cortez. Second, Henry was an absolute pleasure to work with. He answered all our questions in a timely fashion. Denise, the property manager who will meet you when you arrive, was also available for assistance, which is not always the case with VRBO properties. We did not rent a car as we were not interested in touring outside of San Jose or Los Cabos. But the lack of a car was not an issue at all. The Mega store is a 15 to 20 minute walk and taxis outside the store will run you back for $100 pesos. In fact $100 pesos will get you just about anywhere in San Jose or back to your condo. There is also a taxi stand at the Bel Air Resort. You can catch the Ruta del Desierto bus right across the highway and it will take you to Los Cabos for $35 pesos. ( just make sure you catch one stopping at the Puerto Parasio mall.) The closest restaurant is Sardina Cantina, about 5 minute walk. It has good food, a great staff and reasonable prices. Cynthia's Fresh Organic is also a good bet. It is located near the Mega store. In summary, this property met our needs for a wonderful, quiet, relaxing winter break. If you are looking for party time, go stay in Los Cabos.

We were the first...

4 of 5
My group and I were the first (I think) to rent this accommodation following the hurricane. I felt that this was somewhat of a risk but I'm glad we did it. I asked the rest of the group what the star rating would be for them and the general consensus out of 3 couples was 4 stars out of 5. The reason we didn't give it 5 stars was because the area is still recovering from the hurricane to a degree. The house is beautiful and very spacious. Everyone agreed that the beds are VERY comfortable, nice showers, nice facilities. The swimming pool and back yard are great. The views from this area over looking the ocean are outstanding. Some in the group got to whale watch. In January the pool was too cold to actually use for an extended period-we would suggest to management to get it heated. If you're lucky enough to get the master suite on the top floor you will love it. It is luxurious. We liked that it was a gated community and places to park 2 cars. The house is so close to the beach. It's private. Overall we loved the amenities in the house such as the dish washer, washer/dryer, AC, Direct TV and the beds. Jessie is managing the place who lives next door and was a delight to be around, as well as helpful. She can tell you everything you need to know about the house AND the area. Definitely get a walk through when you get there because the place is massive and there are a few details to know about. The 3 couples staying in the house were very happy with the house. We ran into construction of course all over the area-this can't be helped.
