Contagious Casa Jillian!

5 of 5
We had our first visit to Loreto and Casa Jillian on Christmas Eve. We had an absolutely wonderful time and plan on returning! I will begin with our stay at Casa Jillian. There was absolutely everything we desired during our stay...this home has EVERYTHING you need! We totally enjoyed the two kayaks and snorkeling equipment. The home had all the tools to indulge in homemade margaritas and to prepare and cook the fresh fish caught with Pancho Barracuda, who was recommended by Kathy. The grounds and view from the 2nd and 3rd story was stupendous! The majestic mountains to one side and turquoise sea on the other were certainly breathtaking each and every day. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet in this restful home. We enjoyed everything from the beautiful furnishings, courtyard garden, to the luxurious robes and soft, fluffy towels. There were many books, games and puzzles available if you find the time:) Loreto was also a charming town. We are folks who appreciate the culture and life of the community we visit. We visited the Tortillia Dulce for fresh tortillas and Taco Del Ray for fresh fish tacos. Souvenir Shopping is scarce but we found some sweet bowls to bring home to friends. The church and museum were fascinating in this quaint town. If you want a quiet and restful vacation with a little bit of old Mexico, Loreto is the place.

Terrific place for active seniors

5 of 5
This villa was perfect for our needs. My wife and i stayed one month with my elderly mother. Having a main floor bedroom was a must as my mom has great difficulty with stairs. My wife and i had the upstairs bedroom from which we were able to watch the sunrise every morning (and the stars every night). Having spent an entire month at Loreto Bay we became quite familiar with the entire development, which is designed to give you the feel of being in a very old Mexican (or Spanish) village, except that everything is spotless and the landscaping is gorgeous. The only downside is that a some (or perhaps it was just one) dog owner(s) who neglect to pick up after their dog's business. Two things stood out for us about this villa. It has a large, useable interior courtyard where the three of us were easily able to stretch out. Every other interior courtyard we saw had a significant amount of the space taken up by plantings. While the plantings were often attractive ('tho some were clearly overgrown) they very much restrict the space available for lounging or entertaining. The other is the location. About twenty steps out the back door, through a pretty little public plaza takes you to the lap pool. The plaza provides a lovely view from the kitchen window and is almost always unoccupied. A 'neighbour' spoiled that view for a couple of days by parking his golf cart right outside our window, but he did move it after two requests. From the plaza, as well as the second floor deck and the third floor breezeway, one has a good view of the ocean which is perhaps a hundred yards away (also a good view of the mountains from the 2nd and 3rd floors). In the other direction it is less than a hundred yards to the 'main' street where there are two restaurants, the community center (a library actually - 'tho a very well stocked one) and the small market. Other services such as massage, mani/pedi, tour bookings, security office, concierge services and the property management company are also very close. While on the subject of concierge and property management, one couldn't hope to do better than Marco of Bahia Management who enthusiastically responded to our every need. Generally this part of the development is very quiet despite its proximity to all the services. Some noise is generated almost every day by active trades people who are maintaining or renovating villas nearby, but we never found this annoying, and it also occurs in every part of the complex.

Baja Adventure

5 of 5
The main purpose of our stay was to "Get to know" Loreto. I have spent much time in Baja as an Adventurer but little as a vacationer. This trip was a first for my Fiance and I wanted to see if she saw what i love about southern Baja. She did! The support staff were very helpful and and the villa was well equipped. We cook almost all our meals at home and enjoyed the veranda for morning coffee and evening cocktails. We will be back.
