How do I choose 6+ stars?

5 of 5
We are just back from 5 nights at this house and can't stop smiling! What a great vacation and fabulous way to celebrate my 50th birthday with 3 other couples. The spacious house is gorgeous and the amenities second to none. We were the first visitors after Hurricane Odile and were not sure what to expect, but the house appears to have been skipped altogether by the winds. Stefan and Martha are gems and were fantastic about sharing recommendations and information on events going on around La Paz, and setting us up with a tour to Espiritu Santo and a day at Tecolote Beach. Our favorite activity, though, was the day we decided to stick around the house, and ended up kayaking and swimming with whale sharks right in front of the house! We literally swam & paddled out to them, and hung around with them for a couple of hours. We had been talking about hiring someone to take us to see them, and laughed about how funny it would have been to go into town and pay someone to drop us off right in front of the very house we were staying in. Martha cooked dinner for us our first night, and we enjoyed the best mole EVER, along with another Puebla specialty that was new to us, Chiles en Nogada. Fabulous! The community where the house is located is new, clean, and quiet. We met a lot of the residents on the daily boat trips to/from downtown La Paz. Great people, local and expats alike. We also learned a new flight route from the homeowner, Humberto, when our flights to/from Cabo were canceled due to the hurricane -- we flew to San Diego and took a shuttle to the Tijuana airport for direct flights to La Paz on Mexico's Volaris Airline. I can't say enough about this house and our experience. We were all talking about when we might book another stay here, together or with our respective families. It was a perfect getaway.

The Tennis Buddies Trip of May 2014

5 of 5
We stayed in La Paz with a group of 12 guys for a tennis and adventure trip. It was an exceptional time. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable and beautiful. Every night we enjoyed an unparalleled sunset, magnificent views, walks on the beach and time in the pool. Some members of the group took the kayaks out to observe the fish and get some exercise. The tennis courts were very good and used every day. The golf course is world class with some very memorable holes and sand traps. We ate meals at the house and some in the excellent restaurants of La Paz. All in all, it was was one of the most memorable vacations I have ever had.

We LOVED it here!

5 of 5
Wow! We LOVED it here. Soooo much better than we ever imagined. Casa Cuevas is comfortable, cozy, and in a prime location. The online photos represent the property very well but we thought it was even better in person. The patio with views out to the sea and people watching are very relaxing. On-street parking in front of the casa was easy and safe. There is some traffic noise from the road, but this is the city so that would be expected. It really didn't bother us at all. After 10pm traffic dwindles to very little noise and inside the casa seemed a world away. Occasional mariachi bands played nearby in the evenings to add to the character of the place. The Malecon is such a fantastic place to walk, run, bike, people watch, or just soak in the gorgeous sea view. Dozens of great places to eat within walking distance. It was a fun just to randomly walk the streets to explore the city. We felt as safe or safer than any other city we've visited. Fantastic beaches nearby to swim and kayak. We had the most incredible trip to Espiritu Santo island. Whales breaching 50 yards from the boat, swimming with playful sea lion pups in the wilderness, snorkeling into a school of hundreds of manta rays, spectacular scenery, lunch on a pristine isolated beach...all in the same day. UNBELIEVABLE! (Our guides Marine Biologist Alan and Capt. Sergio at Espiritu & Baja Tours were *FANTASTIC*). Snorkeling with the whale sharks just across the bay from the casa and the trip up to Magdalena Bay to pet the curious newborn grey whales were icing on the cake. We had a crazy good time here. We stayed for a week and wish we could stay longer. We would come back in a heartbeat. La Paz is now one of our all time favorite places. Starting and ending the day at Casa Cuevas - perfection.
