We are just back from 5 nights at this house and can't stop smiling! What a great vacation and fabulous way to celebrate my 50th birthday with 3 other couples. The spacious house is gorgeous and the amenities second to none. We were the first visitors after Hurricane Odile and were not sure what to expect, but the house appears to have been skipped altogether by the winds.
Stefan and Martha are gems and were fantastic about sharing recommendations and information on events going on around La Paz, and setting us up with a tour to Espiritu Santo and a day at Tecolote Beach.
Our favorite activity, though, was the day we decided to stick around the house, and ended up kayaking and swimming with whale sharks right in front of the house! We literally swam & paddled out to them, and hung around with them for a couple of hours. We had been talking about hiring someone to take us to see them, and laughed about how funny it would have been to go into town and pay someone to drop us off right in front of the very house we were staying in.
Martha cooked dinner for us our first night, and we enjoyed the best mole EVER, along with another Puebla specialty that was new to us, Chiles en Nogada. Fabulous!
The community where the house is located is new, clean, and quiet. We met a lot of the residents on the daily boat trips to/from downtown La Paz. Great people, local and expats alike.
We also learned a new flight route from the homeowner, Humberto, when our flights to/from Cabo were canceled due to the hurricane -- we flew to San Diego and took a shuttle to the Tijuana airport for direct flights to La Paz on Mexico's Volaris Airline.
I can't say enough about this house and our experience. We were all talking about when we might book another stay here, together or with our respective families. It was a perfect getaway.
