                      Love Swept Away!

                      5 of 5
We had some challenges getting to Staniel Cay. Our flight was delayed out of Newark to Nassau due to plane maintenance issue and we missed our connection flight to Staniel Cay. We ended up spending a night in Nassau. Barry, thank you for going the extra mile helping us get to Staniel Cay! You checked in with us as we arrived, making sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable and enjoy our vacation. Milly (housekeeper) is very sweet. She picked us up at the airport, showed us how to get around town and everything else we needed during our stay. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and letting us use your golf cart! We love the décor of the house. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and just admiring the beauty of the island. Your Swept Away home is the perfect location on the island. Very close to stores, restaurants and quiet beaches. We loved the beach closest to the Swept Away home. It’s always quiet there and made us feel like we have the whole island to ourselves. People on the island are very friendly. We enjoyed eating local foods and buying fresh homemade bread from Emil’s. The beaches here have the most pristine water we’ve ever seen. We loved visiting the pig beach. We will be back for sure to create new memories!

                      Great Vacation

                      5 of 5
We stayed at the yacht club but couldn't get a room for the entire time we wanted. Originally planned to finish our trip in the Florida Keys but decided to check Homeaway and Staniel "just in case". Boy are we glad we did, finishing up at the Beach Cottage capped a perfect vacation. We traded the hustle and bustle of the club for the peace and solitude of the cottage. Loved it! Cottage is as advertised. Beautiful location and stocked with amenities. In 5 days unless we left the property we only spotted another person once, and they were working on the house up the hill. A/c worked great, bed was great, lots of towels for bath and beach, well stocked kitchen. plenty of games, tv was great but shame on you if you watch it a lot. WiFi....meh. It worked about half the time on and off. But who cares!!!! Bikes are in good shape and more than fine for getting anywhere on the island. May want to borrow a golf cart if you're going to be buying a lot of groceries at once but one of the bikes does have a basket. We had rented a cart for the week and really didn't need it with the bikes, especially for what they charge for a cart. Really not a clean beach to speak of directly in front but go to the left maybe 50 feet and it's a good little beach. The other side of the dock is an even better one. It's on another property but I believe they're related and don't care. Definitely rent a boat at least one day. Exumas around Staniel have a lot of neat things to see by boat. Very friendly waters if you're a novice boater. If not, hire a guide but try not to let the opportunity pass. Kayaks looked to be in great shape. A might to windy during our stay unfortunately but we kayak at home so didn't feel compelled to go. For groceries check all 3 stores. When they're open is hit or miss and they may have different items in stock from one week to another. Order bread from Rhonda over in the village (yellow house up the hill.) Coconut bread is absolutely fantastic. If you're there on a saturday they have the market be sure to try the donuts. If you want to eat out you have 2 choices, Taste and Sea and the Yacht club. Either or, they're both great. A 3d place Big Dogs, is open for lunch only, unless they're open later, or closed, it's an island. 3 things that we would've liked to see. 1&2, reclining beach lounge chairs. the 3d would be a small cooler we could've packed with drinks and food to spend a day at another beach. (try Pirate Trap). no mo room

Great Vacation Choice and We Plan to Return

                      5 of 5
Highly recommend Palm Top Villas. First, Solomon was great at taking care of us, and we feel like we've made a new friend. The villa is clean, well maintained, nicely furnished, and comfortable. The location is great, and we especially liked the privacy of "our" beach and cove. We rented a boat from the Yacht Club one day and went to see the swimming pigs, iguanas, Thunderball, and the various islands, but most days we spent sunning on our beach, snorkeling in and near our cove, and walking around that end of the island. There is wifi and satellite TV, but you can relax on the porch and see sites far more beautiful than anything on TV. For our next visit, we will take more basic food (although we got what we needed from the Blue and the Pink stores this trip). For fresh fish, see Sandy (good fish at good prices). Also take cash for purchases and avoid credit card transaction fees. We were going to stay somewhere else, but it was booked by the time we knew we could go to Staniel Cay, and I am SO VERY GLAD! I now wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on the island. We have been recommending it to our friends back in the States. Absolutely love it!!
