Great, Safe, Fun Vacation home

5 of 5
We are a family of 10 (grandparents, parents and kids) who enjoyed our week in the sun at the Pau Pau Bay Beach Estate. If you are looking for a house with lots of amenities (practically private beach), kayaks, an ice machine for those rum-runners, beautiful grounds, a gas grill, and two beautiful decks (one with an outdoor shower!), then this is the house for you. There are beach chairs, stunning kayaking and snorkeling, and the house has everything you need for a week- or more- of enjoyment. Our kids were in and out of the house all the time- we always felt safe (bring water shoes- nature is all over!) letting them roam the yard and beach. Any questions are quickly answered by the manager/owners, and having Mr. Kingsley as caretaker was a bonus- he answered all of our on-island questions. Eleuthra is a safe place to bring kids and there are way more things to do than we were able to in just a week. Bring lots of bug-repellant (no-seeums are part of beach life) and sunscreen. We followed lots of recommendations given by the relator, and Mr. Kingsley (he found us a carry out pizza place for dinner- great for kids) as they are quite helpful. Plenty of room in the house to enjoy a great vacation. Check out the Edwin's Turtle Preserve, the organic farm (just down the main road to the right), and order BBQ dinner carry out from J's Jerk Pit (literally a house on the left side of the road, just after you leave the driveway). Try Eleuthra- have adventures in the Queen's baths and snorkel with Fishbone Tours. Staying in this house allows for a week of just basking on the beach AND hiking, snorkeling, and enjoying the restaurants (Tippy;s and the Buccaneer Club are a must) and lovely people of Eleuthra. The house has all the amenities you need- book now- you won't be disappointed.

great choice

5 of 5
Our family of 5 (including 3 20 somethings) just returned from a fabulous week at Laguna. First of all, the Blankenships could not have been more helpful or responsive in accommodating our needs. Second, the home's setting and location are wonderful. Well-located on the island but the home felt secluded and remote at the same time. The pool is a great addition. Third, the home was chock full of every amenity we desired and more. The only downside which may be encountered anywhere on the island were the no see-ums which were a bit of a dawn and dusk buzzkill. Also, we quickly learned that we would have been smart to be more planful in the food department. Food on the island is super expensive. Thanks Stephanie and Kevin for a wonderful vacation!

Clean, big, perfect location on the caribbean

5 of 5
My husband & I stayed here for 5 days, it was very clean, it has everything you might need to have a enjoyable vacation, and to top it off it's in a perfect location on the caribbean ocean side where you can see clearly to the bottom and enjoy the ocean just steps outside the door! The owner is very kind, and helpful, they can answer any questions you might have in regard to the island. You can get in a car, and drive South or North a little way's to see some additional beaches besides the one right out side your door (but you could stay there the entire time and love it all the same) or go all the way to the North or South end of the island from this vacation spot and be at either end in a short amount ot time. This Web page doesn't show all the reviews left by guest, but TRUST ME... In each of the 3 rooms they have guest books that are filled with A+ reviews, rating this place with a high "10"!!! There was NOT even one bad review in the entire book that was in the room we stayed "The Mermaid" at "The barefoot Beachouse". We didn't get to meet Sharon, but we did meet and talked to Skip while we were there, and he was a wonderful host! Just a couple tips, I suggest is to bring meat, vegetables, and anything else that you might like to eat while your there other then fish which you can get at Governor's Harbour dock daily around 3pm to 4pm. You can get some great tasting fresh fish and you can also get a lot of conch at a reasonable price compared going out to dinner at any of the restaurant's on the island. I'd also say bring any spices, BBQ sauce, butter, and other condiments you use while cooking...packages of tuna fish for lunches, and lunch meat I'd suggest as well. The grocery stores are very limited to what you can purchase once your there. The airlines do allow coolers, we went over with one as a carry on, with no problems at all. A bigger cooler may have to be checked in if it doesn't fit in the over-head area... but that's not a problem either. This vacation rental has kayaks, glass bottom canoe, a double Kayak, a little sail boat, rafts, noodles, masks & snorkels, lounge charis on the beach, pretty much everything you might want other then fins for snorkeling. Don't be fooled by some of the vacation rentals listed on differant web pages, this place is what it states and more... We saw a couple others that we were checking into before we found this place while we were there and they are NOT all what they advertise at all.
