We had never been to Eleuthera before so we divided our three week vacation between four properties on the island .
Sunsplash Cottage was our final four day stay before flying home from the airport at Rock Sound.
Julian the owner was kind enough to meet us at the cottage with a fridge of beer and a fabulous lobster salad !
The house is up a hill and has a wonderful views over the ocean. The wrap around porch and gentle breezes make this the perfect place for outside dining or just relaxing with a book after a day on the beach or exploring.
The house is well equipped, has comfortable beds and an ample supply of hot water for bathing. Two bedrooms, one with walk in shower, the other with a soaking tub. Plenty of storage space. A large TV and outside grill all added to the welcome.
Julian is extremely helpful and a wonderful host. We could not leave the island, he insisted, without having a true Bahamian meal,so he arrived with his grill and promptly served up a grilled lobster and shrimp platter complete with trimmings, while we sat and chatted over a drink. It was obvious that the weather was taking a turn for the worse, a storm was brewing.
We were due to fly out at 8am. We began to fear that the flights would be cancelled as the storm raged through the night. Just as we were packing the jeep Julian arrived soaking wet to make sure that we were OK and that we could drive to the airport. As it happened the storm broke just before the plane arrived and we made all our connections,
Many thanks to Julian he was extremely helpful and made the booking process very easy.
We would defiantly recommend the property and a visit to the Rock Sound area, a lovely little town with very friendly and welcoming people and lots of interesting places in the south of the island to visit.
