Beautiful, relaxing and perfect for a family!

5 of 5
Such a beautiful property on a beautiful island! We stayed at the Tops house with our 1.5 yr old daughter and we quickly felt right at home. It was our second time booking with Eleuthera vacation rentals and both properties exceeded our expectations. The owners are very friendly, hospitable and they ensure that the homes are equipped with everything you could possibly need. We recommend renting a car in order to explore the island to its fullest. The pink sand beach on Harbour island was by far the best trip. The Sky Beach club had great food and a spectacular heated infinity pool. Their beach is normally beautiful yet the tide was too high for our little one to enjoy. (The Atlantic side beaches can be quite rough vs. the Carribbean side). The Banks Road Deli became a daily stop for fresh baked goods and picnic essentials, Buccaneers Club was a great breakfast stop for our first day before we had a chance to stock our fridge. We ended our week vacation at the local fish fry for a last taste local food, Conch salad and island music. We will surely be back again and recommend this place to all!

Lovely - With Plenty of Everything!

5 of 5
Balara Manor is absolutely charming, with lot's of Bahamian colors, character and plenty of everything your family will need for a wonderful vacation. The beds, linens, towels are abundant and top-notch. Everyone will have privacy and space to unwind. You may not need to use the same bathroom twice (there are many full bathrooms). Outside, the grounds are lovingly maintained and very private, with expansive views of Balara Bay. Coffee at sunrise and pina coladas at sunset from the covered patio became an easy routine. Located in the center of the island, right near Governor's Harbor, you'll have easy access gas stations, restaurants, and a little shopping. Excellent "home base" for your daily excursions. We loved it! Matt Simon at Eleuthera Vacation Rentals, and his assistant, were helpful and attentive from the planning phase and throughout our visit. I highly recommend! The homeowners were also very attentive and helpful. There is a "blue book" -- a three ring binder -- on site at the property with excellent beach and day-trip ideas. Tips for family travelers: avoid our mistakes & what we would do next time ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * There is no sense of urgency on Eleuthera; sometimes things work, sometimes they don't. PRINT & BRING your research notes to make the most of your time. Reserve fishing/snorkeling in advance, and book back-up dates to avoid disappointment and unavailability. * Be sure your cell phones are set up with a global plan BEFORE you get to the Bahamas. * Bring a cooler of frozen food to help defray dining expenses (and you'll have a cooler to use for the beach). * If your short on vacation time, bring a GPS for your rental car and look for cell phone App to help you find the best hidden beaches. We could have been much more efficient in finding and getting to the beaches. It's fun to explore, but our time was so limited we wished we were better prepared. * You'll need more cash than you think... not many places take credit cards. *Don't forget insect repellent, anti-itch cream (no-see-ums) and lots of sunblock -- very expensive and limited selection at the convenience stores. (There is an Aloe Vera plant in the Balara's garden which helps with the bug bites.)

Completely lived up to our expectations!

5 of 5
Our stay at the Baha Beach Villa completely lived up to our expectations and our family of 10 had a great week at the house. Before we even arrived the owner, Samantha, was exceptionally helpful as we planned our week. She provided names and numbers for the various activities that we wanted to do. Tenecia, the assistant property manager, was there to greet us when we arrived, and we only had to contact her one time during our stay. The one item that required attention was the hot tub as the temperature had cooled considerably and we could not figure out how to warm it back up. We called Tenecia and she had someone out within the hour and by dinner time it was ready to go. It was great to see that the house was amply stocked across the board: cookware, beach towels, beach toys, toilet paper, dish detergent, trash bags, etc.. Some supplies lasted the duration of the trip, others we had to replenish, but there was nothing we had to run out and buy that first day. We've been to other rentals where the first thing you have to do is go out and buy similar necessities and it was great to have it all right there. The location of the home and the proximity to the beach was fantastic for our family. We had little kids and grandma with us, so the few steps down to the beach was fabulous. It made it very accessible for everyone. The calm, clear waters of the bay was also perfect for everyone. The little kids could enjoy the water without getting knocked down by big waves, we used the kayaks from the house and rented paddle boards for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed cruising around the bay among the stingrays, turtles, and star fish. Two from our group spent hours in the bay with snorkel gear looking at urchins, starfish, angel fish and sting rays. It was also great being close, but not too close, to the hotels as people from the other side of the bay would cruise over and see if we were interested in jet skis or a snorkeling trip. We would agree on a price and a time and they would bring everything to us - so easy and convenient! And, if we said, 'not today' they simply waved and took off - there was never any bothersome pressure to engage. The location of the house is also a beautiful backdrop for pictures. We hired a great photographer and she got some amazing pictures - again, all conveniently set a few steps from the house. If it were up to me I would make this a yearly tradition, and I'm sure no one in our group would object!
