Beautiful beach and house + friendly people = GREAT VACATION!!

5 of 5
This is our third trip to Spanish Wells. We love this place! We stayed at Sunnyside the first time, and just loved it. We tried to book Sunnyside for our second trip, but it was already booked. We were very sad, but we did get our beloved Sunnyside again for our third trip to Spanish Wells. Sunnyside is very spacious, has a great layout, and the most beautiful views. My favorite spot is the beach side porch where I could just curl up and read a book. The kids all used the jacuzzi, the bicycles, and ocean kayaks daily. They had a blast! Our friendly property manager, Brent (also known as Capt. Smiley) took us out for a great day of fishing. We had enough fish for several delicious meals! His brother, Capt. Scuba, took us on an Eleuthera excursion where we saw many different caves, blue holes, fruit farms, and other area landmarks. It was a fun day, and I would highly recommend Capt. Scuba's tour. (We rented a car on Eleuthera for a day, but didn't find any of these special places on our own.) We rented a boat from Brent / Capt. Smiley and had a great time exploring the area, finding new beaches, and snorkeling in beautiful clear waters. Lorraine had our rental golf carts ready for us at the house when we arrived. Spanish Wells is a beautiful little island, has all amenities, friendly locals, and is a place where safety isn't an issue. We look forward to making Spanish Wells a yearly family vacation.

Simply Unbelievable!.. If its available, book it!

5 of 5
First off, John Fitzsimmons is a fantastic owner and a great person to do business with. Secondly, his vacation rental is something out of a dream, overlooking the pool and still has a 100 yard (at most) view/walk to the crystal clear ocean water. Third, I honestly will not stay anywhere else when I come back to the Bahamas. You're far enough down from the crazy Atlantis people (who over paid by at least double), but still in such a prime location on the beach that you couldn't ask for a better location. 10 minute walk to Atlantis. 10 minute walk to marina. 10 minute walk to casino. 10 minute walk to the store.... and that's if you were walking backwards! haha Simply loved it! I have recommended this property to every person I have spoken to about the Bahamas, so take my advice, there wasn't a thing to complain about in this entire unit! John- Sorry it took so long for the review, I remembered while looking at what dates you had available for my next trip! Thanks again!

Windchat - It is tuly better in the Bahamas

5 of 5
I was so over vacationing at the crowded hotels in Aruba, Cancun, and Puerto Rico. I was tired of having to get up at 7:00am to make sure I got a lounge chair and I was tired of waiting on line to be seated for an expensive mediocre breakfast. This is not what vacation should be about. Which is why I loved Windchat Villa in Eleuthera. My precious family vacation time was not wasted on the things you need to deal with at a crowded hotel. But instead of me telling you what Windchat Villa is not, let me tell you what we loved about it. We have two teenaged daughters so everyone was on their own morning schedule. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet morning sipping coffee on one veranda and finished our day sipping wine on another terrace watching the sunset. Our daughters got up whatever time suited them, walked down the wooden stairs and met us on the white sand. Did I mention that no one else was on the beach but the four of us? Lying on the beach we would argue over which blue was more magnificent, the water or the sky. Later in the day we changed our view to the one by the gorgeous pool. In the evenings we played board games in the loft nook. We all love to read and there were so many cozy places both inside and outside of the villa to cuddle up with a book. The local restaurants were all charming and delicious. When we wanted to eat in we were able to hire a personal chef for the evening. Everything you need or want can be arranged by Del, the concierge. One day the rest of the family took a boat tour while Del arranged for me to have a massage at the villa. Everyone was happy. The best review I can give is that we just booked again for next year! AS
