Lovely Stay!

4 of 5
We were a group of 12--9 adults and three small children, all extended family. Our stay was not without glitches, but Tenecia, who welcomed us and took our calls when we needed help, and Samantha, who managed the property, were spot-on in getting things taken care of. The kitchen was in need of some equipment updates, and Tenecia was sent on a shopping trip to buy the items we needed for our stay! Presto, everything was in order for our cooking needs. There were air conditioning issues with the guest house that weren't rectified until half way through our stay, but I do understand it's not always easy to get local workers on the spot quickly. Overall, the house was wonderful! There was plenty of room for everyone, with lots of space to spread out and find your own spot to read or play games. The dining table was a great asset as we were all able to be seated together for the many meals we ate at the house. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub and the huge hammock! The beach was great the first week or so and then toward the end of the stay the tide shifted and sea weed littered the beach. This didn't bother us much as we were leaving shortly. The beach is good for swimming or kayaking but was not clear enough for snorkeling during our stay ( I understand this is a function of the weather and the time of year). Overall, we enjoyed this lovely house and the Nassau area. The roads on island are excellent and the surroundings are landscaped and well kept. It was great to be able to hop on a bus and go to a supermarket with all the foods you need in just a few minutes. Bus drivers worked hard to be accommodating and were friendly and helpful. Taxis were available after hours when we went out for dinner as a group, and rates were very reasonable. We would recommend Cheryl Fox (she has a website online) who did our airport transfers and took us to Atlantis and back as well as some other excursions. We were impressed by the Bahamian demeanor--friendly, helpful and kind! We have stayed at a number of villas on various islands and other spots around the world, and there are always small problems of one sort or another (burned out lightbulbs, non-functioning electronics etc.), but we have never had anyone respond as promptly and take care of things so completely as Tenecia and Samantha! Thanks to them, and the lovely people in Nassau, we had a wonderful stay! Sincerely, The Smith Family

A 'Super-Vacation'

5 of 5
Let's be real here - the photos/description do absolutely no justice to the place! This place is amazing. We had the fortune of traveling with a family of 20, including 8 children and staying in two of the homes in the development. Mike made it easy and helped with accommodations for the additional home, being just a few houses over. Our family dubbed it the 'Super-Vacation' and continue to talk about it - a month later. Plans are already in the works to try to come back in 2015. The house is amazing. the living room easily accommodated the entire family for meals and to chill. There was no shortage of views of the amazing water, from the house, the outdoor furniture and around the pool chairs. Not just the home itself, but the entire property was maintained extremely well, thanks to Norman and the team! The beach is private and I'd rank it one of the best on all of Grand Exuma. The pool is an added bonus when it got late in the day for the kids. The whole experience was great. Mike was extremely hospitable, even with all the emails and phone calls we made, he helped make the trip memorable. With all of his advice, we were prepared with all the things needed to make the trip memorable before we even step foot on the island. day trips, car rentals, bakery/store information, what to bring etc. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Can't forget - loved being able to open up the NanaWall System completely during the day, and having the nice view when closed. So much to talk about, so much to praise, but you can't get truly appreciate it from a review or any pictures, you have to be there to experience it.

R & R plus Adventure

5 of 5
My husband and I had a wonderful vacation in Eleuthera and Whatavue was the perfect home for us. We were looking for relaxation but we also wanted to explore the many beaches of Eleuthera. Whatavue is a stunning home - we loved the décor - the beautiful pool - and the dock that takes you right out to the sound. The bikes and the kayaks were a total perk! Gerry was helpful and also very quick to get back with us on anything we needed. Windemere island has a gorgeous beach - and we had it to ourselves on most days. Great get a way for couples or families. We plan to return!!!
