Amazing views on the ocean

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed here with our two very small children. We had a very relaxing time in this beautiful home, which appears to be part of the newer homes in the development. The set up is great with a wonderful open concept main floor (overlooking the ocean), very nice kitchen (which we used for almost every meal, but be warned, groceries are very costly in the Bahamas), a fantastic patio, as well as a very generous sized master bedroom balcony (compared to some of the other units in the complex). The home is clean with very tasteful, comfortable, modern furnishings and decor. Bathrooms are very clean as well - very convenient that each room has its own en suite. The house is literally on the oceanfront rocks and you almost feel like you can reach out and touch the ocean waves from the patio. My husband and I just love the ocean, so it was a great place for us to still feel like we were on the "beach," while hanging at the house during the kids' sleep time. The location of the unit is very convenient right near the gate so that we could catch the jitney (ex. to the grocery stores and to the Ardastra Zoo - recommend this place for kids). We preferred to take the jitney vs. walking on the main road to for example, Sandyport, because it really feels quite dangerous with small kids and using a stroller is almost impossible (there aren't many grassy medians to walk on). Being close to the gate was also convenient for us with small kids to access the beach in front of the Poop Deck restaurant, where we spent most of our time - the beach here is fairly clean, nice sand and a nice place for a dip in the water... and very quiet; we almost never saw anyone. Delaporte Point itself is a bit quiet and you have to make a point to travel by car or jitney to see more of the attractions. You have some good restaurants at nearby Sandyport. We, personally, were looking for a quiet beach vacation away from the crowds, so this suited us well. In terms of transportation, make sure you book with Barbara early, since her vehicles rent quickly in busy season. We didn't want to drive in the Bahamas on the left side of the road and were glad we didn't, because we felt the traffic was quite fast with lots of roundabouts and narrow streets, and that you had to know where you were going. We were too late to book transport with Barbara, but ended up with finding a reliable taxi company that provided car seats. Should we return to the Bahamas, we would definitely

A Hidden Gem in Paradise

5 of 5
This oceanfront villa was the perfect home away from home on what has to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world. The villa was large, spacious, well-maintained and very clean. It had everything we needed for our week away. The resort pool was great - there were lots of floats and pool/beach toys for our son to use - and it was never crowded. The beach right outside the villa was wonderful but it's worth the 2-3 minute walk to Jolly Hall beach for the beautiful white sand and even more vibrantly turquoise water. The villa location is perfect. Right at the beach, close enough to walk into town, far enough from the music at nearby restaurants (but close enough to eat at the restaurants), and right across the street from a car rental. We didn't snorkel, but we used the kayaks provided by the villa owner daily and saw sand dollars, huge red starfish and lots of fish. We rented a car one day and explored Rolle Town, Little Exuma and the elusive-to-find but oh-so-stunning Tropic of Cancer beach. We also rented a boat in George Town and spent a day exploring the bay and Stocking Island. The villa owner was fantastic with communication, including the response time during the booking process, giving us lots of information on local attractions and checking in with us after we returned home. Thanks for providing us with a wonderful place for our best family vacation ever - we can't wait to come back.

Description says it all! Amazing views!

5 of 5
We are a family of 4 - with 2 young adult children. We needed a 3 bedrooms. Agree that this townhouse is exactly as described and pictured! We have rented condos in the past. This was the best experience we have had. Milly (the owner) answered all of my questions quickly and was always accessible. The condo location was perfect and being right on the water was quite a treat. The weather didn't cooperate for snorkeling unfortunately, but one of the 2 pools has a nice sheltered area to catch the sun out of the wind. Supplying beach towels was greatly appreciated and there were even games (we played scrabble one night) and a Fodor's Bahamas book which was very thoughtful. We also rented a car from Barbara and I would recommend doing that too. She was wonderful and very helpful. Although the traffic in downtown Nassau can be crazy and combined with driving on the left..sometimes a bit scary. But if you want to go to Paradise Island or even just the grocery store it is really helps to have your own car. Along that line, bring as much non-perishable food as you can. The prices on the island for groceries are about 30-90% higher than at home depending on the item. I don't recommend the Poop Deck. We ate there the first night. The food is expensive and not of high quality. It was our most expensive meal. We finally found the fish fry places on Arawak Cay on our last night and ate at Casa del Mar. Great food and good prices. Get the grouper! We went to Atlantis one day and had a blast and on another day we went to Blue Island for the dolphins and sea lions. The other days we just hung out and enjoyed the views and local area. To sum up, I would highly recommend staying here!
