            CHARMING NEW COTTAGE

            5 of 5
If you are heading to Eleuthera and this is your first time, you might want to consider saying in the middle of this 112 mile long Island. Governors Harbor and South Palmetto Point are centrally located to many excellent snorkeling sites on the east side reef and great beaches on the west side. There are also many beautiful inland bays and bone fish flats within 30 miles north and south. Sir Charles Guest House is very new, exceptional clean and well stocked for our arrival. Arlene saw to and anticipated our every need including a cell phone. We couldn't had better time. The cottage is a spacious 1 bedroom, 1 bath with a large living room and kitchen. WiFi is very good also. Our weather was in the high 70's to low 80's for the two weeks and sleeping was comfortable enough that we did not need the air conditioner at all. You'll be buying most of your groceries in Gov's Harbor about 6 miles up the road but the largest stores are up in Spanish Wells a nice day trip though. Suggest to everyone renting a small car as the road are a bit narrow and if you go off into the jungle they get even narrower so make sure the owner is not looking for a new paint job. Gas was running us $5.66 so getting a small economy car is away to save money. We did not have too many misquotes, but lots of biting sand fly's (no see um's) so don't leave home without something with lots of Deet in it, especially late in the afternoon. The itchy little red bumps only last a week of so....Make sure you get a good map as most of the roads are unmarked, but anyone along the road will always help get. We found the Island a whole to be very safe and will be returning soon. Thanks again Arlene for a wonderful vacation.
