Breathtaking and Magical Honeymoon at the Windchat

5 of 5
The Windchat Villa in Eleuthera was an absolute paradise to spend our honeymoon! The view of the ocean from every room was truly beautiful. The privacy of the beach was romantic and the snorkeling was fantastic. Although the steps to the beach are literally right out the door of the villa, sometimes we chose to have a quick swim in the gorgeous infinity pool. We enjoyed the ocean view from the infinity pool with a delicious Bahamian drink served in a fresh coconut which had been prepared by the Windchat staff as a welcome for us. The Windchat staff took care of us by having the kayaks brought down to the beach for us and providing beautiful fresh flowers each day in our bedroom. The property manager, Del, greeted us at the airport and made our arrival relaxed and welcoming. The team of staff, headed by Del, were just a phone call away if we needed them, otherwise the property's privacy was ideal for a romantic honeymoon escape. Given that the Windchat Villa is in North Palmetto Point, it was centrally located for day trips and exploring Eleuthera. One day trip was spent golf carting around Harbour Island. We enjoyed fresh conch salad and the pink sand beach. On another day trip we drove south to explore Ocean Hole, Lighthouse Beach and Cape Eleuthera. One last day trip we would suggest is to travel north and spend some time at the Queen's Baths then check out Cow & Bull, Hatchet Bay Caves and Window Glass Bridge. Travel then to Current to watch the fishermen prepare their catches from the day then head to Preacher's Cave. Next drive to Jean's Bay and take the ferry to Spanish Wells for another fun time of golf carting island. Our favorite outing was spending a day at Ten Bay Beach. Its’ beauty is out of this world. We found sand dollars just under our toes with every other step in the bay. Our favorite restaurants while staying at the Windchat were Tippy's, Uniques, The Beach House and The Rainbow Inn. While at Harbour Island, lunch or dinner at Valentine's is incredible. Three other suggestions - Fish Bone Tours provides an incredible experience, Oceanview Farm has enjoyable horseback riding along the beach and the Leon Levy Preserve is fun to explore. Whether you explore Eleuthera or savor waking up each day in bed and watching the sun rise over the ocean, your trip will be one you will never forget. We are truly grateful to the Windchat owners for creating a property that truly defines paradise.

OUR SECOND AMAZING VISIT TO JOLLY MON

5 of 5
My husband and I visited Eleuthera in Dec. 2012 for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We fell in love with the island and this beautiful home. We returned this summer for 11 days with our 5 boys (ages 26, 23, 20, 16, 13) All I can say is that I am already planning my return visit and hoping to stay longer next time. Jane and Scott are fantastic hosts. From the very beginning of your trip they go out of their way to answer every question and make sure you have a very magical adventure. The home is more beautiful than the pictures portray. After exploring several beaches on the island our family decided that the beach right outside our home was the best beach on the island and why would you want to go anywhere else. We participated in the Fishbone Tour with Capatian Bubba and I highly recommend it. My boys had a blast and Julius and his wife Robin go out of their way to make your tour great. We purchased freshly caught fish and lobster from Tarpum Bay and Governor's Harbor and enjoyed making our own seafood feast. Visit Island Farm and you can purchase fresh vegetables at a reasonable price. We brought a cooler of meats and cheeses from the states with us and saved a lot of money. We also packed our suitcases with lots of dry products. It was nice to arrive to the home late in the day and have all of our food with us. We enjoyed Tippy's and Front Porch but decided that there was nothing better than eating the fresh fish caught just hours before we cooked it. We enjoyed snorkling, kayaking, exploring and just being together on the most pristine beaches in the world. I agree that a visit to Glass Window Bridge is worth the drive. My boys wanted to jump off the cliffs to but of course mom and dads wisdom prevailed. I also want to give a shout out to Del and Sandy who maintain the property. They are fantastic. We had a few problems with the internet and since I run a business and so does my son it was imperative that we have interent access each day. Del went out of his way to bring us a friends modem very quickly. Thank you again Scott and Jane for sharing your beautiful home with our family. We look forward to many more visits on this magical island.

Great getaway!

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed with two other family members. This is a beautiful property - right on the water, completely secluded. We plan to come back again just for the quiet nature of the island and this properly. The locals were extremely friendly and helpful, not burnt out on tourists. Andrew and Rita (the keepers of the property) are two of the nicest people I've ever met. They will take care of all of your needs and are so kind. The only drawback was that the 2nd bedroom is downstairs - you actually have to go outside to get to it, but we really didn't mind this once we realized it gave us some privacy if needed. This place was an absolute joy, we can't wait to come back!
