Beautiful property

5 of 5
The house and cottage were wonderful. Very comfortable and everything one could need. The house was very clean and everything in order. A true home away from home. We were 3 couples and there was tons of room, lots of privacy too for each couple. The views from everywhere in the house and cottage were gorgeous. The beautiful ocean was always in view. The property is quite large and beautifully landscaped. All the privacy you could want from the neighbors. Andrew and Reta checked in on us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. They called us on Thanksgiving day to wish us a happy Thanksgiving. Got to spend some time on another day talking to Andrew and so nice, so friendly, we enjoyed talking with him. We went to Tippy's restaurant one night and all of us had excellent meals. We did some exploring of the island and different beaches. This was my 2nd trip to Eleuthera and I really love the island!

Windchat - It is tuly better in the Bahamas

5 of 5
I was so over vacationing at the crowded hotels in Aruba, Cancun, and Puerto Rico. I was tired of having to get up at 7:00am to make sure I got a lounge chair and I was tired of waiting on line to be seated for an expensive mediocre breakfast. This is not what vacation should be about. Which is why I loved Windchat Villa in Eleuthera. My precious family vacation time was not wasted on the things you need to deal with at a crowded hotel. But instead of me telling you what Windchat Villa is not, let me tell you what we loved about it. We have two teenaged daughters so everyone was on their own morning schedule. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet morning sipping coffee on one veranda and finished our day sipping wine on another terrace watching the sunset. Our daughters got up whatever time suited them, walked down the wooden stairs and met us on the white sand. Did I mention that no one else was on the beach but the four of us? Lying on the beach we would argue over which blue was more magnificent, the water or the sky. Later in the day we changed our view to the one by the gorgeous pool. In the evenings we played board games in the loft nook. We all love to read and there were so many cozy places both inside and outside of the villa to cuddle up with a book. The local restaurants were all charming and delicious. When we wanted to eat in we were able to hire a personal chef for the evening. Everything you need or want can be arranged by Del, the concierge. One day the rest of the family took a boat tour while Del arranged for me to have a massage at the villa. Everyone was happy. The best review I can give is that we just booked again for next year! AS

Well equipped, well maintained, incredible views!

5 of 5
Heron Hill is a very comfortable, very well equipped and very well maintained older home on a incredibly beautiful five acre estate. We stayed for ten days at the beginning of September, and did not see a single person on the beach the entire time until our last day. The home is large, but it has a very cozy feeling. There is an enormous selection of books to read, plus satellite TV, XM radio, Blueray DVD with a surround sound system. The kitchen has just about every appliance and utensil that you could imagine, plus a large assortment of spices, There was a power failure the first night during our stay, and we were without light and air conditioning for a full 10 seconds until the automatic generator started! While the setting is very private, the location is convenient to restaurants and shopping: Governor's Harbour is 10 minutes away; the Tarpum Bay dock, where you can purchase fresh fish is 20 minutes; and the best supermarket on the island in Rock Sound is about a 35 minute drive. The caretakers, Andrew and Reta, are really nice people and keep the property in excellent condition
