Outstanding vacation home

5 of 5
We rented the Villa for Island Breeze in March, 2015. The villa exceeded our expectations in every way. The Villa is removed from any heavily travelled roads with a short stretch of sand road leading along the coast to the home. The views from the home are fantastic, as was the quality of the North Palmetto beach. Each day we walked the beach - usually not seeing anyone along the miles long coast/beach. On occasion we saw others, but never more than 5 people on the entire beach. The home is well decorated with modern appliances, furniture, and excellent bedding/linens. A rental car is a must, of course, given that the home is approximately 20 minutes from the Governor's Harbor Airport. An SUV is not necessary for the home, but we found it nice to have one for our excursions to the different beaches along the island. We highly recommend a chef/cook for the vacation. We accepted the recommendation of the owners for "VB" - who was nothing less than outstanding in all ways including a wonderful personality who informed us of everything we'd ever want to know about the island in addition to being a kind, generous friend for the week. The Villa would be appropriate for just about any group. We traveled as a couple with our daughter who was on spring break from college. There would be no issues for young children, and the beach would be ideal. Additionally, the site is well removed if not even secluded for the couple or family desirous of privacy. The home is on the Atlantic - North Side - of Palmetto in the central section of the island. We found this ideal for excursions to both the North section (Harbor Island) as well as South section (Tarpum Bay) of the island (about 1.25 hours and 0.75 hours, respectively). The drive to Tippy's and French Leave beach is approximately 10 minutes. The Drive to Ten Bay Beach is about 5 minutes. All of these were favorites we visited during our week on the island. The snorkeling and swimming on the beach at the house is excellent. The constant breeze and winds kept us bug-free the entire week. Basically, one chooses a beach based on one's activity for the day (walking, shells, snorkeling, swimming, family, etc…). Gov Harbor airport is the closest. We flew Southern Air in from Nassau. This was an easy set of connections. Wifi at the house was excellent. Thank you for the excellent sound system as well for the beach tunes. The bluetooth connection is appreciated - thanks! Thanks for a great vaca!!!

Beautiful view

5 of 5
Loved the view from the bedrooms, main area, and the lanai. Palm trees frame the beach view and sway in the wind just like in your favorite island movie. We all enjoyed the large, sandy, rock free, beach area in front of the house. Spent everyday in the warm water swimming and kayaking. Opened the windows and doors, the entire time, and enjoyed the ocean breeze. Loved the house and all the vegetation surrounding it. Wonderful to have the open living environment especially after and long Ohio winter. Everyone was very friendly and laid back. The only problem was trying to return to work and pretend not to still be running on "island time". Thank you Ken for answering all our questions and tips for a enjoyable stay. Thanks for the great memories and we will return.

Amazing Vacation Spot.

5 of 5
We stayed at Blue Palms from June 1 -8, 2008 and could not have had a nicer, more comfortable place to stay for our Eleuthera vacation. The house is very well appointed and designed. Tastefully decorated and supplied. It is steps from the best snorkeling that we found on Eleuthera. There are infinite coral heads to explore teeming with live coral and fish. We saw turtles, rays, many reef fish and even a nurse shark. Mercy, the caretaker, is a gem of a lady. She took care of anything we asked. Just to spend time in conversation with her is worth a visit. Our party of 6 was very comfortable at Blue Palms and its location on the center of the island makes it a perfect base for island exploration. While there, be sure to get a burger at the Country Cafe just up the road in N. Palmetto Point and some conch fritters and cracked conch at the Sunset Inn in Gov. Harbour.
