Paradise at Birdsong

5 of 5
Spent a 'Girls Getaway' week at this wonderful, peaceful, home-away-from-home, and loved every bit of it. Hostess Charlotte was very friendly and knowledgeable. Upon our arrival she made sure we were comfortable and well acquainted with the house amenities; and she made herself available to answer any questions or concerns throughout our stay. The driver she introduced us to, Joe, was friendly, always on time, and seemed a fountain of knowledge regarding the history of the Bahamian Islands. There are only two things I would suggest to any future guests of Birdsong. Number one being that the beach, only a short walk away, does have lots of broken glass, so be sure children wear their flip flops. Also regarding the beach: the farther you go away from birdsong, the nicer the sand and the fewer the rocks in the sea. Second suggestion is to bring bug repellant. The yards at Birdsong boast many lush tropical plants, and you're going to want to enjoy the lovely patio by the moonlight... Although Charlotte does keep citronella candles handy, we found that additional repellant was rather essential. I would recommend Birdsong to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the Bahamas, and I hope I have the opportunity to visit here again some day myself.

Christmas vacation getaway

5 of 5
We three ladies had a wonderful stay 5 days, 4 nights) at the Rose Cottage!! The weather was perfect with the beach just a 15 min walk a way. We utilized the local bus (jitney, $1.25/ride) daily. We also did the Tru Bahamian Food Tour and a trip to Sandy Toes - both great experiences found through Trip Advisor. Our hosts were very generous by picking us up at the airport and taking us grocery shopping. We feel we were able to get a much better feel for the island by not staying at an all-inclusive resort. We would recommend the Cottage to anyone looking to relax away from the crowds. Just lovely!!! Thank you for opening your home to us! Erin, Sarah, and Lisa

Exactly what we needed

5 of 5
This little studio was exactly what my boyfriend and I needed: it was comfortable, homey, well-furnished, and easy to keep clean. It's in a very nice neighborhood away from the resorts and touristy parts of Nassau, and we felt like we had a very authentic Bahamian experience staying here. The garden was beautiful and extremely relaxing as well! The property is within easy driving distance (and in some cases walking distance) of great restaurants, beaches, and grocery stores. Neil was an excellent resource for us, and beyond accommodating. He provided us with everything that we needed and then some, checked in with us periodically to answer any questions, comments, concerns, or needs, and to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. He recommended some excellent restaurants and activities including the Anchorage at Arawak Cay and a day trip to Rose Island. We highly recommend the property, and if we ever make it back to Nassau, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks again Neil!
