Surprisingly Peaceful Thanksgiving Vacation

4 of 5
First off: let me clarify right away that Atlantis would not be a blip on our vacation radar if the Battle for Atlantis Basketball Tournament had not been played. This type of vacation is just not our cup of tea. Too commercial, no local ambience, ridiculously high food prices, etc. That being said, we did find ourselves having a legitimately good time during our one-week stay. The condos at the Harborside are definitely the way to go if you are looking to save a few bucks and find some peace and quiet. Because it is part of the Atlantis properties, your Harborside wristband admits you to all the "free" Atlantis attractions (all pools, waterpark). BUT ONLY Harborside residents/guests are allowed at the Harborside pool. So, after a crazy couple of hours in the waterpark, we could return to a giant, relatively quiet pool with plenty of deck chairs for all. Not wanting to pay the exorbitant food prices that everyone talks about, we opted to fill one of our checked suitcases with food. Even the frozen meat that was in our luggage for almost 18 hours was still frozen when we unpacked. We didn't know it, but there is a grocery store and liquor store about a block from the property, if you don't want to bring your own food. But a lot of people that we talked to had done exactly that, opting to buy just fresh/dairy items upon arrival. We had those items delivered by Foodstore2go.com -- a little expensive, but sooo convenient. The condo we were in (3774, Building 5) was perfect. Our own kitchen, washer/dryer, living room, bedroom with attached bath. Nice and clean. If you are going to Atlantis, spend the money to stay at the Harborside. Our rental for this place was free of any problems. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous! A paradise within a paradise

5 of 5
A combination of elegance and comfort, from the tasteful décor, tiled flooring throughout, soft and colorful furnishings, to the modern en-suite bathrooms, one with a full body shower, and the other with a spa-like air-jet bubble bathtub, the bedrooms are spacious and the mattresses feel as though you're sleeping on a cloud; the perfect sized kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, was well stocked with anything one would need! The landscaping is gorgeous with ocean views, beautiful flowers, palm trees and tropical fruit. The private pool and cabana style poolside lounge area allows you to be lost in the gentle breezes and warm sun. You can even BBQ poolside, on an ultra-sleek and modern grill! Pia, the homeowner/host, was wonderful, gracious and accommodating . We hated to leave, already anticipating a return stay!!

Completely lived up to our expectations!

5 of 5
Our stay at the Baha Beach Villa completely lived up to our expectations and our family of 10 had a great week at the house. Before we even arrived the owner, Samantha, was exceptionally helpful as we planned our week. She provided names and numbers for the various activities that we wanted to do. Tenecia, the assistant property manager, was there to greet us when we arrived, and we only had to contact her one time during our stay. The one item that required attention was the hot tub as the temperature had cooled considerably and we could not figure out how to warm it back up. We called Tenecia and she had someone out within the hour and by dinner time it was ready to go. It was great to see that the house was amply stocked across the board: cookware, beach towels, beach toys, toilet paper, dish detergent, trash bags, etc.. Some supplies lasted the duration of the trip, others we had to replenish, but there was nothing we had to run out and buy that first day. We've been to other rentals where the first thing you have to do is go out and buy similar necessities and it was great to have it all right there. The location of the home and the proximity to the beach was fantastic for our family. We had little kids and grandma with us, so the few steps down to the beach was fabulous. It made it very accessible for everyone. The calm, clear waters of the bay was also perfect for everyone. The little kids could enjoy the water without getting knocked down by big waves, we used the kayaks from the house and rented paddle boards for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed cruising around the bay among the stingrays, turtles, and star fish. Two from our group spent hours in the bay with snorkel gear looking at urchins, starfish, angel fish and sting rays. It was also great being close, but not too close, to the hotels as people from the other side of the bay would cruise over and see if we were interested in jet skis or a snorkeling trip. We would agree on a price and a time and they would bring everything to us - so easy and convenient! And, if we said, 'not today' they simply waved and took off - there was never any bothersome pressure to engage. The location of the house is also a beautiful backdrop for pictures. We hired a great photographer and she got some amazing pictures - again, all conveniently set a few steps from the house. If it were up to me I would make this a yearly tradition, and I'm sure no one in our group would object!
