Gorgeous Property & Views

5 of 5
Brian & Audra had arranged a car & kayak for us before hand and easy directions to get to get their home. We were welcomed as we approached the property awaiting our arrival. This house literally has every necessity you need to accommodate your stay from sunblock, lotions, beach equipment, snorkeling gear, umbrella, iron board, sheets towels, blankets, every kind of cooking utensils, DVDs & computer. The house is clean and spacious, do keep all the windows open for the peaceful breeze off the ocean, didn't even need to use the air conditioning other then two nights. They had booklets and paperwork guiding us to every beautiful beach and attraction. They suggested for us to eat down the road a place called "Rowdy Boys" greatest pancakes ever, everything on the menu was pretty much delicious. Best place to eat by far on the island, and the views are breathless. "Outer Edge" is an outside bar that has good food and you can see the Sharks hanging around the boats. "Lloyds Sports Bar" has TVs & Music with good food and amazing pizza. All the beaches are beautiful and clean. We will be back again and with other friends and family as well. One of the nicest places to stay, great price with super friendly owners. Thanks Brian & Audra. The Kievits

Beautiful location on an awesome island!

5 of 5
Solstice is located on a beautiful cove. Very private. Coffee on the covered patio in the mornings, looking out over the cove..perfect. The beach was awesome. Perfect for both swimming and snorkelling. Nice sandy bottom. Some of our group of 12 actually saw two dolphins just on the edge of the cove. Water was super safe, even for little ones, due to the calmness on the lee side of the island.Having the gazebo and grill down at the beach was a great benefit as well. The homes left nothing to be desired. We were 3 families of 4 each, and we had lots of room. The homes were well equipped to cook all your own meals if you wished. Only caveat with Long Island is that if you are a group of 12, you really need to make advance reservations ANYWHERE if you want to eat out as a group. Mark and Jill certainly do a good job of looking after this place. We have travelled to a few of the other Bahamas out islands. We found Long Island to be quieter than both Eleuthera and Exuma. But we also found the people to be about the friendliest anywhere. And the beaches cannot be beat. If you are looking for a safe destination for family where you can mingle with the locals effortlessly, then this is the place. Not much need to leave the property if you just want to relax. But still lots to see on the island. We would recommend this property whole-heartedly for any family or group looking for a relaxing and care-free holiday. It really is worth the extra flight out of Nassau to get to somewhere like this. Solstice is definitely on our list to return to one day. Thanks Brian and Laurel!

A special place

5 of 5
Thank you Judd and Dale for sharing your Island home with us everything was perfect. Our boys particularly enjoyed the surf and snorkeling on the Atlantic side and the Wifi at your home a good balance of disconnect for them.We were taken by the people that live here, there is a contentment with them that is so genuine it seems spiritual. Omar came to help us with our car and I wanted to give him something for his effort, (he had come out of his way with his whole family to help) and he said "no way don't live that way here, we just help each other, enjoy your stay".... It was like that everywhere, this is a very special place. There is a fresh frozen meal of Mahi Mahi in the freezer for who ever comes next. Much Love, The Wendells
