We just returned home from Sugar Beach Villa and this is the first time I have felt compelled to review a vacation rental straight away. This place so surpassed our expectations. Everything about the home is welcoming and beautiful. The beds are comfortable, the house is impeccably clean, beautifully furnished and the views are spectacular in every direction. It's funny that there are no photos of the other bathrooms because the master and guest bathrooms are stunning. Each secret deck and magical path transports to paradise.
We traveled as a family of 4 with 2 small children and another couple. The set up could not have been more perfect. Our friends were able to have privacy in Kasharina and we were able to gather everyday on the beach and for dinner. Ms. Glo and Linton now feel part of the family and could not have been more kind, gracious and helpful. We were thrilled with the 2 dining options in Williamstown. As New Yorkers, we have the pick of every great restaurant, but nothing can compare to sitting down at a picnic table and experiencing local food as the waves crash on the shore. The owner of Santana's went so far as to send out for kid friendly chicken wings and fries from her sister's place across the street, to make sure my kids had enough to eat.
It is best to have the house stocked before you arrive or plan on a big shop upon arrival, the grocery store is 20 minutes away and we personally, never wanted to leave Sugar Beach. Most days, we would buy fish or lobster from the local fish monger down the street and cook for ourselves. Paula cooked 2 wonderful meals for us and do not miss out on Linton's daughters rum cake. Incredible!
Our day boat trip with Linton was hands down the most spectacular beach day we have ever experienced. The creek, or cove, was perfect for our kids...warm, shallow, calm crystal clear water. Even our one "bad weather " day was perfect. While it was 1 degree in NY, we got to sit on the deck, and watch the waves crash and the wind blow, bundled in a light sweater in 68 degree weather. Little Exuma is far from tourist traps and you are able to experience the Bahamas without any commercial presence, which for us was ideal. The local people are friendly and helpful. Our only problem is we think we might be ruined from ever going anywhere else!
