Perfect Island Vacation

5 of 5
We just spent a fantastic week at Slack Tide. The house is gorgeous and very well equipped. The location is perfect for boating, fishing, snorkeling, with easy access to the beach and the settlement. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the dock by Melonie and her staff to take our luggage and get us to the house. Melonie was very helpful during our stay. This was our second trip to Great Guana Cay and we will return as it is one of our favorite places to visit. The owner, Angie, makes the renting process very easy.

The Perfect Beachfront Getaway

5 of 5
My husband and I just returned from our 3rd visit to Great Guana and feel we have found the perfect spot for us. It's a charming 3-bedroom house recently renovated with large windows all around taking advantage of the lovely view and especially the breezes. We have not found that in many houses. We had to use the a/c one night during a rain storm and it worked very well. The upstairs bedroom with balcony is a great spot to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail taking in that spectacular view. We enjoyed the large deck overlooking the beach as well as the folding chairs and umbrella for the beach. A covered patio table for dining was nice to have as well. I found everything we needed for the light cooking we did. You can walk to the grocery store, liquor store as well as Nipper's, Grabbers and the marina side snack shop. We enjoyed having a cart to check out the island but it is not needed. In fact, we felt it was faster to walk to Nipper'sthan it was driving the cart. TV had several channels to catch a game or movie. We bought the internet package with Bahama WiFi for $35/week and it worked very well. The laundromat had closed on the island so not having a washer and dryer was a small issue for wet towels and clothes. It's not a negative but just needed to know that ahead of time to bring clothes to wash in the sink instead. We had excellent contact with the owner and also the house keeper, Glenda, went above and beyond for us when our flight delayed us causing us to miss the last ferry to Guana. She's a gem and a testament to the hospitality of the Bahamas! It's the quintessential beach house. I highly recommend it for couples or families wanting to have a little piece of paradise if only for a week.

Beyond our Expectations

5 of 5
Bob and Josee, As previously communicated, we were blown away upon our arrival at your "estate" by the sheer beauty of both the home and grounds and the "Wow Factor" didn't diminish our entire week. We've rented many villas over the years, some larger, some pricier, and one even with a staff of 7, but never has one been so well thought out, so caringly maintained, so clean, and so well prepared for your guests with ease and comfort in mind. We've never seen such a lush property (first one with actual grass) in all of the Bahamas, and "Doc" does a great job with it all, and manages to do it nearly invisible to the guests. We been to the Abacos many times but never stayed on Guana. The island is safe, friendly and in some places fun and funky. Orchid Bay is the quietest part of the island. We enjoyed the beach all by ourselves while there. The best part though always was when we drove the cart back down the driveway and took into view the beauty you've created there. We were two, but can easily see how larger groups could enjoy the property and retain their own quiet spots because around every corner was another nook, rocker, or lounger to take a nap, read a book, break from the sun, or a spot to sip coffee and take in the surroundings. Your attentive communications prior to booking, and then prior to arrival made the trip even easier and gave us the confidence that all we had to do was get there and the rest would be easy...and it was! We appreciate your "Dream", and are further appreciative of you sharing it with us. we hope to be back if you will have us!
