Totally relaxing!

5 of 5
We spent a delightful week in Johanna's guest cottage being thoroughly entertained by her wonderful dogs, Lucky and Sophie. The cottage was everything described and more. We spent every morning and evening on the upper deck just relaxing and gazing at the beautiful view. Johanna's recommendations for restaurants and things to do were spot on. She was helpful in every way (she helped by making phone calls when my luggage didn't arrive) and yet was totally unobtrusive. All the beaches on Exuma are lovely, but we especially enjoyed Forbes Hill and Tropic of Cancer. Our favorite restaurants were Tropic Breeze and Santana's. When visiting Santana's, make sure to stop at Mom's Bakery right next door and across the road at the yellow shack for delicious conch fritters. We also saw a lovely sunset at a restaurant called Catch a Fire (a little pricey, but worth the view). Our first night Johanna sent us down the road (after first calling to make sure they would stay open to serve us) to Turquoise Cay. It is a nice boutique hotel and restaurant. They could not have been nicer to us. All in all, we would highly recommend Sweet Ting, and Exuma in general, to anyone who is looking for a quiet, off the beaten track vacation. We definitely hope to return! Thank you, Johanna for a great week.

Couldn't have ask for more!

Just returned from our second trip to Exuma. This cottage is absolutely fantastic, perfect for my husband and I. It's close to town, yet very private, beautiful beach, never saw anyone on the beach, it's like your own private beach, located in a gated ,wonderfully maintained neighborhood. The cottage is spacious and so well maintained and decorated beautifully . The beds were so comfortable and the showers were like five star resort. Wi-fi worked all week, never a problem. We rented a boat at minns and kept is at the marina steps away from the cottage. Evvie is very responsive if you need anything. Juan was so easy to work with. Just can't say enough good things about this cottage, it's a real gem!! We travel once a year to somewhat unplugged islands, this is the best rental we have experienced!

Exceeded our expectations! Charm & well priced!

My husband and I were being budget conscious, but had high expectations for privacy, R & R and ease. We loved our 9 days at the boat house and will definitely return. The little cement home (maybe 400 sq. ft) is all you need if simple is OK for you as a couple; bathroom, little kitchen, TV and open windows that bring in the cool ocean breeze. It's clean and private. The house sits adjacent to the bigger and more substantial 2 bedroom rental-but for us, it sat unused, so we had all the privacy we wanted. Fresh Papaya and guava, a little cove with kayaks and a sailboat and a beautiful view of the South Side of the island (the bone fish flats) was ideal for us to spend time daily on the water. The owners, Sharon and John are gracious and authentic islanders who over-delivered on everything for us. We rented their little car for the week (this is a must), used their kayaks, boats and even rented their whaler for a day. John round tripped us from the airport and showed us around so we had a sense of things. The island is simple and felt happy, safe and not too touristy. Don't miss Santana's past the cut and at the end of the island. Fresh lobster, fish and great drinks in a little shack overlooking where Pirates of the Carribean was filmed. Some quirky stuff to know about-like markets close at 6pm and you won't find anything open on Sundays except for the BBQ at Chat n Chill island which is on the North Side and you get there from taxi or boat rental....not to be missed. A few resorts have live music if that's your thing-but still quiet and simple All in all, great snorkeling, easy living and much better than a hotel or noisy condo somewhere in town. Thanks John and Sharon. We had a great time!
