Our combined families of 4 adults and 4 children, age 5 to 10, stayed at Kataluma House in late July. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to both Eleuthera and in the home. We found the home to be very well stocked with everything we needed including beach towels. The addition of the infinity pool was worth every penny! Our kids spent most every day in the pool while the adults enjoyed the view under the pergolas.
From the house manager to the gardener to the owner himself, all were easy to work with and very attentive. We felt very well cared for. The kids especially enjoyed it when Gustav cut open coconuts for them.
The addition of the bedroom in the lower level worked out great for us. We had 2 kids stay in the bunk room and one adult in the lower level bedroom. That allowed us to spread out a bit more upstairs.
The home itself is just lovely. The details and finishes are quite nice and because the home is large and open we found plenty of room to spread out and not feel constantly on top of one another. The kitchen is well stocked with all the daily essentials. The blender came in handy several times. We also loved having the stereo and hooked up our iPhones to enjoy music while cooking or just hanging out.
The gazebo was a really nice surprise. What a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the beauty of the beach and water. It's cool and breezy and we enjoyed many evening cocktails there.
We sampled a few local dining spots like Buccaneer Club, Mate & Jenny's, Tippy's, and The Bistro at Sky Beach Club. Sammy, the bartender at Sky Beach Club was a hoot.
We found the local people to be extremely friendly and helpful and we look forward to our next trip to Kataluma House.
